Jack Herer 305 Watt LED + Hempy Bucket Grow

I've never just put them in soil, I was shown originally to use cotton balls, but the roots would get caught up in the cotton, so I started using breast pads when they were around, and now paper towel. They pop usually in about 24 hours, then 24-48 after they go in soil I have a sprout. I have problems with them falling over at some point sometimes, so I'm starting to wonder if straight in the soil might help prevent that. Of 11 I have 9 left, 3 sideways, 5 solid, and a twin but the little side looks weak. 2/5 lemon haze look good, 4/4 kushberry look good.

Raisin my friend, there simply is nothing like trying it yourself and seeing how you feel about it. I think confidence is big part of growing and adds that extra boost sometimes. i can understand people using the different methods if that is how they learned in the first place and they feel comfy with it. You may find that soil planting is simply the most logical way to do it and it works great for you and you never look back. Give it a go, just ensure that you use soil for seedlings.

Regards

I will definately try germin em sttraight in, it makes more sense really- more natural, and I will be tossing 12 attitude freebies in that way in a couple months. I have some pics coming, showing them more individually, showing my bigger ladies that have been in the back. I'm just so happy to see replies in here, it was feelin a bit lonely for a little while there. Next grow purplewreck, and I'm getting excited.

I feel yer excitement amigo. I really happy I discovered this journal stuff to 'compliment' my grows.

Yeahh I have had those lonely moments lol It picks up tho, people of course read from thier emails a lot and only look at certain things. Its painful sometimes for me as most people here are in the States so are like 8 or 9 hours behind me usually, getting an answer to something can take too long and Ive already gone ahead and done whatever I am going to do haha

As the grow develops and gets more interesting all the bud porn lovers come out of the woodwork Im informed!

I have two Jack Herer as I say and will probabaly do them next, so cant wait to see these getting into flower, will be doing some research where appropriate so hopefully we can both get thru any issues and get a great product.

i have nine bigger girls, 4 minis.

Cut purplewreck clones, 3 moms, kept 3 of the 6 seeds I started, will try and narrow down to 2 after I grow them out. I put the majority in rapid rooters and 3 in perlite solo cups (trying something a liitle different). One of the 3 moms has a distinct smell and is not like the others and doesn't grow much like trainwreck I've grown, and looks like it'll be a shorter pheno with alot closer nodes. One more feeding and I begin to flush 6 indicas, it'll be nice to have some of her again.

Seeds of what will be Headstone and John brown are growing in my breeding room. I can't wait to see what's in store. John browns mother is an old clone only strain, daddy is satori, headstone has a Jack herer mom and the same satori daddy. The John brown will get grown out first but probably not until winter, it's about to get all summery around here and I'll be slowing down thru august and only growing one room, my next crop should keep me in the buds for the summer anyway. I'll get some shots of my ladies at 44 days tomorrow. 9 of my original 11 seeds will be moving up into 4" pots, not a bad ratio I guess.

Girls are looking nice man! I germ'd in Jiffy pellets. Had 19 of 20 germ. Down to 11 though due to 1st time growing mistakes. Really easy though.

Thanks man, I feel real good about this crop, only my 3rd in hydro, 2nd time using these hempy buckets and I don't think I'll ever change. I prefer the organic/soil for absolute quality, but the yeilds and ease make this hempy method pretty tough to beat.

Excellent Journel !!!! about to start Hempys under cfl/hps and your detailed log is very helpful. Keep up the great work. cannot wait to see your harvest

You're telling me brutha, in a couple weeks I'll be smoking a legend, so good it's not wearing a strain name.. I'm gonna be smoking some really pleasant buds, heavy relaxation with a fat ass smile, such a mellow happy stone. Giggly couchlock, absolutely perfect. The ceiling is the floor if u smoke too much.

Still looking good seeing as the Jack Herers are supposed to be a bit fickle. Keep it up man.

How long you intending to Flower them for in total?

65-70 days for the Jack, about 60 for jacks lil indica friend. My timer has been giving them an extra 4 minutes of sun, and 4 less dark, and they actually look a little behind, so I may have to break out the scope and rethink as it gets closer. I usually stagger my cropping so I'll have some a bit sooner some a bit later, I prefer the Jack after 75 for myself, not so racy, I can be adversely effected by the sativa side if it's not good and amber. Was just blessed with a lil karma bud so I won't be rushing them. I don't see real good and really struggle with the scope, badly, I need one of those slick digital ones.

I'll admit these ladies are not as pretty as my old soil grows prior to my lil incident, but it'll be potent and yeild, and yeild has become somewhat more of a priority than in the past. These just haven't developed any big nice leaves I like to see, but trimming should be easy!

Im sure 4 minutes wont make much of a difference haha

I think I prefer the potency as oppose ot the yield myself and also will actually like to have different types of highs that suit different times of the day or moods you know?

Bummer you struggle with the scope, they can be difficult even for 20/20 vision it seems, maybe one of the old fashioned magnifying glasses, Sherlock Holmes style be good?

I end up sampling a little as it gets close, I'm not as good at seeing as I am at judging weed, plus knowing these strains pretty well. I've always been able to get great quality but struggle with yeilds, hence the move to hydro. I'm fortunate to have 2 really good strains and the Jack seems to like hydro. Actually the Jack still tastes and smells great, it's about on par with the soil version I've grown. I'm looking forward to seeing what these purplewrecks can do, they get in the room in about 3 weeks.

4 ladies get the shears tomorrow, got some pics to post then too. It'll be nice to spread out the remaining 9, some of them buds gettin a bit thick. Trimming will be a quick plucking of yellow fan leaves and done. Samples are as shitty as expected but potent and clean. In soil normally the quick dry samples are decent, but hydro just ain't the same, no flush can flush out the hydro taste, to me. The Jack does better though, and keeps alot of her special flavor even in hydro. I expect about an ounce each for these first to be harvested.
