Old Bagseeds'n Stuff: Relearning the Grow - Feel Free To Ride Along

Best of luck my friend. I popped bagseeds 5 weeks ago today give or take a day. They are the ones in my profile picture.
Hell yeah brother, I hope they turn out nice and sticky :hookah:

Take a look at the glass bulb on the old ph tester. Mine got a layer of nasty all over it and I took a soft brush and cleaned it off while wet. The time it took to read improver after that.
Now that I look at it, it's not really dirty at all. Only had it a couple months

Ohh yeah, the PH meter thing.
I recieved my Milwaukee meter and calibrated it a few days ago, then I decided to dip my Vivosun meter in the calibration medium to see if it would read the same, and it was actually on the mark... However when I PH runoff with it, it is slow and never settles in one place, whereas the Milwaukee can make up its' mind, even if I stir it around! T'was a good idea, thanks @CBD BudMan !
You're quite welcome... glad I could help.

Day 39
Let's get some better quality pictures in here.

Isn't that nice. Here's a SaugaView (😉) that really showcases how damn happy Smelly is right now. Bottlenose is the only one so far who has told me she needs a drink. I'm sure the others will do the same very soon.

B.I.G. is getting her side branches on! This is the point where I start gently bending them every day to prepare for all the tying and yanking.

1000009794.jpg

Smelly is still huge. A few days ago I topped her after being sure she is still vegging. She got a little bit of burnt tips while I was figuring out the humidifier situation, ultimately wound up switching her and B.I.G.'s spots.

1000009790.jpg

Bottlenose isn't doing anything very exciting. She got watered soon after these pictures were taken. Water PH went in 6.4 n' came out 6.8, very nice!

Ass Hat is already looking a little better after upcanning yesterday. Started looking real droopy and pale for a bit. I'll never understand that bastard leaf..

Day 42.
The training has started 😈 Tops bent down first so the lower branches can catch up. Everyone has had their water & runoff PH was perfect each time.
I'm leaving the humidifier off a few days to see how it goes, might even take it out and let them finally have their space. RH outside the tent has been pretty good for a couple weeks now and inside doesn't drop too far below 40, lights off it jumps to 60+RH and I'm beginning to accept that temps are just going to dip into mid 60's. I'm figuring out how to keep the pots decently raised off the mat so they still get warmth but don't start cooking again.

Looking much better, and she's the first to get some seven finger leaves!

Day 45.
Things are going along nicely, at this rate we should be flipping to flower in a couple weeks. I still have to do something about the light leaks tho'. Can't really fit in there to see what gets in, but I can see what gets out and it shouldn't be too hard to fix.
Everyone's got some space now. The humidity doesn't go below upper 30's anymore so we're golden. The white powder from the piezo humidifier actually got under the prefilter and I'm a little sad about it, I don't think it would have done too much to it so I'm hoping it will do fine.

B.I.G. is taking this quad training like a champ. Not bad at all for a first try.

1000009895.jpg

But Smelly is fucking miffed about it. All the new growth is quite curly and unruly, but still coming out at pace. Those two big leaves are as big as my hands!
1000009892.jpg
1000009893.jpg

Bottlenose has some pretty wide node spacing and not a lot of fingers.
1000009896.jpg

And finally Ass Hat who is looking very sativa. She's getting preflowers already so I will keep a close eye on her.

Nice pussy hair on them nodes. Always nice to not see nuts.
Ayyy. That's what I'm hoping for. Some nodes haven't popped on one side, but they're pretty fresh so I'll let them take their time.

Day 52.
I'm thinking we'll need to flip a little early because the power keeps going out lately, so I might as well. They aren't as grown out as I'd like and I have to remove Ass Hat, because those preflowers turned out to be nuts! Dammit. I'll get pictures in a moment. They've grown alot in the past week.

52 is a good day to flip! Do you have a portable lamp like a battery camping lantern? I use one in my tents if power goes out when lights are on. Just a little light is all they need. On low they can run for days!

Not quite, just regular flashlights and stuff, but if the sun's still up when the power goes out I just open the tent so they're not in total darkness.
When the sun is down & lights are still on tonight I'm finally going to go at the light leaks with some black acrylic paint. Definitely upgrading my tent next grow.

You're on it! My tent's 8 years now and I'm used to the way it's set up! It's going to need replacing but I dread it! Change is good, No it isn't! hehe

8! Dammmmmm!!!:thedoubletake:
This little Vivosun is decent for the price I paid! I think I'd just prefer to use it as a veg tent in a perp tho'. Or if it had a big walk in closet to be alone in. Oh the things I'd do with more space 😤

Picture time. The tent floor is a bit messy, I cleaned up as I finished snapping shots. The bottle caps were attempting to raise the cork things off the heat mat a little to keep it warm, not hot (didn't work LOL) ultimately I've decided to shut off the heat mat even though it gets too cold in my room at night. I'm going to get some clear runoff dishes that raise up a little before I turn the heat mat back on.
These plants have had the quad defoliation treatment, removed or tucked leaves shading bud sites and removed the budding branches that were pointing down.
1000009989.jpg

B.I.G. is a little droopy 'cause she just got watered, but check her out! Cola distribution isn't 100% perfect, but she's looking great for my first quad. Excited to see how much she stretches.

1000009999.jpg

Smelly is looking less curly and way bigger now. A couple colas have yet to pop fully 'cause I only just trained the lower main branches.

I'm curious about what Bottlenose will do. She's quite leggy and weird.

Maybe try a folded up towel to soften the heat between the mat and the pots.
Tried that one in a couple ways with different cloths and it was too fiddly, buuut now that you mention it, it gives me an idea for the coldness problem at night. Like having a folded baby blanket on the heat mat so the heat builds and radiates out and have the pots on a raised platform so they're just an inch or two away. It didn't get bursting into flames hot when I tried it, but I'd have it on my Inkbird thermostat regardless because it still got very warm.
