Welcome To The Table Mountain Sativa Spectacular

So nothing much to report except for this interesting and hopefully successful mistake...well sort of mistake.
So, while I was dropping seeds in the little cups I was at the same time spore printing some panaeolus cinctulus mushrooms I collected that day. A couple prints looked kinda light and not as good as the others. Just for curiosity sake, I flicked a partial spore print over the cups. I wasn't expecting anything at all.
The last few days I've been watching the mycelium colonize some of the clover seed that made its way into the cups.
I've just full on buried a spore print in one of the cups with no seeds. It would be pretty cool to fruit some of these mushies this easily with no sterilized materials, just a print and cup of soil.
Here is the beginnings

Have a wonderful day. I'll be collecting some fresh mushrooms this afternoon at the horse riding spot.

Speaking of spores, while my daughter was riding, I just found the mother load. A blikkie vol pan cinctulus. Great specimens for printing. Also got some horse poo full of mycelium and some pins. Will see if I can get something going with that

Do you have some kind of manure in your soil? CL🍀

Jackpot 🎰 Mother load. Nice score 👍. CL🍀. :woohoo: :thumb::cheesygrinsmiley:

Cheers. I've heard they also colonize grass seed and others so I'm guessing that's it. The mycelium is only visible growing on what now I think are grass seeds.
This all makes sense because horses eat grass like all day so their poo is likely full of grass seeds.
Only worm manure in my soil although can't say for certain none in the compost.
I brought back a chunk-o-poo with a few pins growing out of it. Will see if I can get some hard growth by bombing a few cups of rich soil with spores until something takes.

I would like to know if that’s possible because I have never heard of that before. I know that it’s happens in cow n horse 💩. CL🍀. :thumb: :cheesygrinsmiley:

They are all active (make you trip)
Do you mean the double wild? The ones I tried hermed so I have gone back a stage now and sprouted a previous batch. Hopefully, they will be good. So no luck yet but I am stillvery much on it. Probably be a few months though.

please forgive my ignorance, are any of these mushrooms psychedelic or just food?

Are you having any luck making seeds of the Durban?

Cheers!

I have questions, too. If the mushrooms are psychedelic, can you eat them fresh to get their effects or do they have to be dried and/or cured before the psychedelic effects?

Yup you can eat them fresh, make tea or you can make magic honey 🍯. And of course you can dry them too. CL🍀

Here is a Kzn called Holly's Harvest that got dusted by something outside last season. She sprouted through winter and went into flower. As I'm moving, I dug her out of the barrel and popped her under a light. Not much on her but she was already a few weeks in so wouldn't grow more branches. Smells like star anise and something thats sour and dank. Going to be an interesting one.

Yeah it's Hella interesting
Just about to smoke some of her mom or sister or whatever :) I stuck my nose into the jar and had a deep whiff. There is something special about the smell of Landrace. It's so fresh. I have notes of lemon leaf, lemon grass, and landrace dagga :)
