About half way through the budding cycle?

There have been some remarkable changes in my plants the last 3~4 days.

My "oldest" female is developing a, umm...fragrance; the best I can make out is an initial sweet piney smell with a nutty, maybe fruity follow up (not easy being right next to sweet smelling "ripe grape" vine). She's doing some serious bud production. Zillions of pistils, actually signs of "nuggetry", ovary development, and what not. Man is she getting frosty - like someone's been sprinkling her with powdered sugar. Put a quick scope in her -trichs are like millions of crystal clear sprouting life forms on a silicon based life-form planet.:)

Who the hell needs porn...
When you've got it right outside your door...

*ahem*

Anybody wants those lyrics...knock yourself out. Make a song, make a dollar, just don't knock yourself out. I don't mind you using me, just long as you aint abusing me...

Fuck, there I go again, writing lyrics when I should be saying "good bye".

So good bye...dammit. :)

Re: About half way through the budding cycle...?

Dang it.

More I wanted to write.

Come tomorrow morning my "oldest" Queen's bud development will be at 5 weeks, plus or minus one day.

Her buds are bunching up but they're still "airy".

I would say about half of every branch on her (and she's loaded with branches - from the main trunk, to branches on branches, and a few branches on those branches...I mean geeze) is at least 40~50% bud. It's like she's gonna turn into one huge nugget.

Re: About half way through the budding cycle...?

Would love to see some pics.

Here....

First, my two Mystery Queens in full.....

Here's the "oldest" at 5 weeks of budding:

Then here's the "youngest" at 4 weeks of budding:

And finally, these buds are all off the "older" Queen....

Geeze...I had no idea this camera could take such good porn shots:

That's just the tip of the iceberg. Half way through and you're seeing fantastic results from mother nature. Brace yourself for the harvest!

Yeah. I read ya.

I pretty much know what to expect. It's about the same as it was last year, only about a month sooner than I had anticipated. Last year I had 6 females sexed by the first week of September. This year it was the last day of July/first day of August - and taking it all the way down to two plants (had previously considered taking it down to only one, but, decided on two).

Last year's harvest was something of a disaster - taking care of 6 plants, way too much work, the growing and the harvest. I'm going to have my hands full even with two. Come time for the trimming - pffff - it's gonna take me a week just to trim one of those monsters. Just counted the branches just off the main trunk and there's about 25 of those up to about 6 feet from the base. Some of the branches are HUGE - like having a separate plants on a plant...geeeze wiz.

I'm gonna have to set up a trimming party, or something :laughtwo:

Re: About half way through the budding cycle...?

Wow. How many board feet you think you'll get out of them at the sawmill? :)

Hmmmm:hmmmm:

Don't know.

Maybe I can twist all the branches together and make a nice pair of sandals.

Or...

Hmmm:hmmmm:

Hey...I can make a breadbasket for my cat.

Cool.

Thanks for the idea. :thumb:

complaining in paradise is a tough sell. skyhigh robert

Glad I'm not selling anything.

Keep up with the axioms. You'll make a fine robot someday.

Oh yeah...you can keep the change.

11 days ago I measured one of my plants (the "oldest" Mystery Queen) at 9ft - 3in.....

:bravo:

Less than an hour ago I measured it at 9ft-8in. (no pic).

Hmmm :hmmmm:...5 inches in 11 days. Vegetation has greatly diminished, no doubt since she puttin' out some serious nuggetry...ya think? :)

She might get up to 10 feet by harvest time.:) :cheer: GO QUEENY GO! :cheer:

:cough:

I've got my calender market up ever Sunday with weekly durations (5 weeks, 6 weeks, 7 weeks, etc.,) up to 10 weeks, which is Sunday, October 2, and the estimated date of harvest.

I'll be making regular micro-inspections; I dunno, maybe I'll start out with at least bi-weekly inspections. Tricky. The plant could be a 50/50 S/I split so I might have to make even more inspections. For all I know, 10 weeks of maturing may even be too ripe, for me.

Still, she does look predominantly Sativa, I mean almost 10 foot? Very airy buddage. Not an over-powering fragrance, not from the buds anyways. The leaves seem to be where most of the fragrance is coming from.

Gotta lot of branches and vegging characteristics of an Indica. Buds are starting to bunch up quite a bit, but, as mentioned above, still airy.

Any ideas...anyone?

Ideas? Yeah. Getting in good with Paul Bunyan. It's going to take Babe the Blue Ox to drag that beast back to the house! ;)
Oh. About the percentage of Sativa/Indica, you mean?
It seems to look evenly like both to me. Thinner leaves like a Sativa yet the traditional Christmas tree shape of an Indica. Keep in mind that the lack of little green thingies to the bottom left under my 420 points indicates lack of knowledge and hands on experience (at least in my case).
Thanks back for giving ME an idea. Three gallon wicker type baskets woven out of the stem material from my harvested plants, these baskets filled with a 100% organic fibre (like they use coco husks) growing medium composed mostly of..... wait for it, wait for it.....
You guessed it, Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Indica fibres and compost!
Let's face it. They evolved and thrived for millions of years by growing and feeding off of a combination of raw elements and their dead rotting parents, grand parents, etc. It can't do any harm that I can think of.

For big harvest a DIY trimmer is needed! That would be fun to put together. Going to make myself one after couple of months, increasing the producing and trimming is tedious work after few grows. heh

Care to elaborate on this DIY trimmer? You meanin a pair of clippers, scissors,...or what? Or something of a machine that automatically trims...:scratchinghead:...:hmmmm:

Never mind.

I saw the video.

Neat idea.

Hey...

It's raining here.

Forecast says it will get up to 96 degrees later.

Yuck.

Hot and muggy.

To hell w/the rain... been in the upper 90s here w/no rain... lots of lightning though... been a different kind of Summer that's for sure!

Keep an eye on them babies if they get wet... mold is a respecter of no plant!

Lookin good bru!

Read ya loud and clear. First and foremost on my mind right now. If I gots to I'll set up a fan out there.

They say it will get windy later...that'll help.
