I haven't been able to find a pic that matches this def can anyone help please? This is my first time and plants are looking great but this is a constant learning process and I love all the input from you guys you rock!!!!:420:

Hi, welcome to 420,

how often are you using bone meal, isnt bone meal used more for the veg period and im sure it should not be used to often, in my signature below is a plant problem guide, click on that and see what you can find,

also how often are you giving nutrients as you may have some kind of nutrient lockout due to salt build up or ph issues,

to much nutrients causes salts to build up in the grow medium at the roots and this stops the plant taking in what it needs, so it may need a flush, also how often are you feeding mollases.

it dont look to bad at the minute though and some leaves do turn yellow and die during flower as the plant is focussed on the buds and not the leaves so plants will lose leaves as they get further into flower

Thank you don I really think I'm dealing with some heat stress here after checking your link. I use molasses every other watering and I just flushed them a week ago ph is 6.5 on all the girls. They are looking better since the flush and the girl with the spots is about 2 weeks from harvest. Sample bud #1 was very tasty and sample bud #2 is drying now.

ok, it also depends what kind of high your looking for,

thc is at its highest at 100% cloudy so if this is what your after then check the plant at different heights and if your flushing flush when its nearly 100% then it has a week to 10 days to finish,

if you want more of a couch lock affect then you want to wait till the trichs are 20 to 30% amber, so again check the whole plant and flush at 100% cloudy to 10% amber then harvest 7 ish days later, if your not flushing then just feed plain water the last week if your growing in soil

cool no worries, you should get a grow journal up and running if your planning more grows then we can follow along as well,

feel free to check mine out any time,i always got something going on.

Yeah I think I will try your 2 liter dwc that is really cool man. The sample bud is already better than anything I've seen around here so I will definitely be at it again. I really like these autos but one day I want to try a scrog with a regular strain. You have been at this quite some time don maybe you can give me some strain suggestions.

theirs just to many to choose from,

im going to give big buddha cheese ago next hopefully its the true cheese,
it also depends what your looking for such as indica or satva,

its tough to decide, ive been working on my own strains so been growing them for a couple of grows now, going to order some new seeds on wed and try some new strains, i got jack flash growing now which is a really nice sativa strain, then the rest is sour diesel, sensi star and a couple of my own strains.

the list is endless, just go with what you like the look and sound of, each strain will grow different in each climate or style of grow, given enough time any strain would do well under a scrog,

i think id stick with indica or indica heavy strain for a scrog as i would want less stretch so it fills the scrog, more evenly, apart from that id just pick something i liked the look of, you would need years to try them all, ak47 produces well,

well i only do 2ltr dwc and i dont follow the usual method, the top part that holds the plant has regular compost in it and the roots grow down into the 2ltr res which has an air stone and nutrients in it,

some use clay pellets to grow the plant in before the roots grow down into the res but i find starting the plants in regular compost works well then i let the roots grow down into the res and just use the res to feed the plants, i sometimes water the top but not very often and the plants do well,

now dwc is quicker by a couple of weeks and plants grow quicker as well, but a 2ltr dwc is not for big plants, ive let mine get a big to big this time but i sohuld of used a bucket as a res plus i could of done a bigger veg, but i only do 2ltr dwc so dont let them get to big, but they do grow quicker and will cut the veg time down by a couple of weeks and also the harvest time, but their less forgiving, soil is very forgiving, with dwc you have to make sure the ph is spot on and also make sure the nutrients are spot on as well for each stage of growth,

i dont actually check the ph or ppm but i would if i ever had a problem, also res temp needs to be kept in check as root rot can often happen when the temp gets to high in the res,

its a nice way to grow and idea for a short veg such as 2 or 3 weeks of veg then 12-12 or if you wanted a bigger dwc then use a bucket and bigger air stone and you can veg as long as you want, you will get through lots of nutrients as i find the dwc uses a lot more then the soil plants, put it this way when i water my soil plants they can go 3 or 4 days without another watering or feed, the 2ltr dwc is drinking 2ltrs of nutrients every 24 hours due to its size, so they can use more nutrients but then growth is slightly quicker but only by a couple of weeks at the very most,

if i could get away with it then id go hydro or dwc but its to much of a risk to have so much equipment around, its much easier just to have pots with soil in and look like a novice, hydro or dwc would make you look like you spent money and have a good idea of what your doing, i prefer to keep it simple so the risk is a lot lower,

but hydro and dwc really does speed the process up, some argue soil grown bud tastes better but to be honest i cant tell the difference, if i mixed my dwc buds up with the soil grown buds then i couldnt tell you which jar was which, so to me the differences is not important as i dont find any difference, i just use the 2ltr dwc so i can grow something a bit quicker or even go 12-12 from seed as dwc grows quicker so you would end up with a bigger plant under 12-12 from seed using dwc than you would using soil.

so with the medium you could use them clay pellets or anything else, the idea is just to have something that holds the plant steady while the roots grow down into the res, so i cut the top off a 2ltr bottle and turn it upside down and poke holes in it and remove the lid, then i fill it with compost and plant the seed, about 7 days later the roots are starting to grow out of the bottle where the lid used to be, so at this stage i fill the 2ltr res with nutrients at seedlings stage and place the top part inside the 2ltr res and just let the roots grow down into the nutrients, thats when the plants starts to grow like crazy, but get it wrong and things can go wrong pretty quick,

luckily i got a ph tester but i have only used it to check the ph of tap water and to check the ph of the water with nutrients in before giving it to the plants, ive only done this once or twice so not used the ph tester much since but if i had a problem then its their if i need it,

i find the tap water is to high for dwc but when i add my bpn nutrient it lowers the ph to where it needs to be and ive not had any issues touch wood

Sample bud #2 is AWESOME! I have been longing for some good skunk and this strain delivers! There has been lots of swell in the last couple of days and no new brown spots on leaves. My seeds are in the US already and I believe I will try the 2 liter thing for some dwarfs. Many thanks to you dp I think I had some lockout before the flush because they did much better after. I also put a window unit in that has put the temps right where they need to be now I believe I will enjoy another bowl!:thumb:

I thought everything was ok but this issue is getting worse! What does this look like to you don? I got my scope out and didn't see any bugs under or on top of the leaves. Is 45x enough magnification to see spider mites? I think it's a def myself because the other two girls don't show the same signs.
