So a few months ago a friend of mine dropped off several spindly dying 4 inch tall plants in red solo cups. He asked if I could save them in my greenhouse. I took them in and kinda did some research and now as winter is coming here in Canada is getting cold. The plants have done very well but the fan leaves are starting to go really yellow. I am not adding fertilizer at this stage anymore. Is this normal? Is it the cold? I am unsure and Google has way to many opinions. Thanks a bunch and happy smokin.

These are from seperate plants. These two are noticable ahead of the rest. To bright in my greenhouse for my microscope so I had to take clippings in the house.

I'm curious what you see when you look at the trichomes for color.
Forgot to hit reply.

I got my big CBD girl outside still in northern Alberta and the temp now at almost 9pm is 35F from the sensor in the middle of the plant so I'll be putting the sheet over her and running the heater to it around 40 - 45F as our weather is going to shit. Humidity is 82% right now. The only yellow leaves are the ones getting hit by the warm air coming out of the heater set real low but I've fed her well.

There should be a big cola down low in the middle but I cut that one out today and am cooking up some cocobudder with it's buds right now. Need my meds!

All tucked in with the heater running for the night. Getting colder fast up here so she'll be coming down in stages starting in a few days if it looks bad. Snow forecast for this week but just a few inches.

You don't need to get the greenhouse warm just don't let it freeze. I've left mine with the front open when it was 33F all night and one morning woke up to fairly heavy frost on the ground while she was open but had plastic over the top to keep dew, rain and snow off her colas. My first finished outdoor plant ever and I've been growing indoors here for 20 years next Valentine's day.

Good luck!

Also in Alberta. More central then Northern but snow 50km away this morn. Thank you for the advice. I have noticed the cold isn't hurting them but it is slowing production down and I don't want to drag then to far into winter. My greenhouse is not that efficient. I have one or two girls that will need a few weeks but I think they just might be good honey oil candidates.

If you have sunny days coming they will grow decent even if it's not that warm.

Mine have been chilly for a while now but I've really noticed the colas swell up a lot the last week or so and there's still lots of white hairs but most are curling up. Hardly any red but this plant is all CBD and less than 1% THC so supposed to pick earlier than regular plants for max CBD. Almost all trics milky now even in the lower buds I took today to make cocobudder with. Cooking it up right now. Will raise the temp and decarb as soon as the last of the water from the buds boils off.

Fingers crossed for sun. Most definitely gonna try again next year just early earlier. This was a learning curve .

Me too. I put out 4 supposed fem autos but 3 went male and only two autoed. Chopped the big boy about mid-Aug when both began flowering. Love the girl tho and will be growing from her clone for a long time yet.

Fingers crossed here too. :)

Would you suggest a 2 stage harvest? The lower parts of the plants are pretty clear yet.

I always harvest in stages indoors and hoping I can do that with my outdoor girl too. Getting colder fast tho so may not be able to get her all done that way.

I'll crop all the top colas off and let the rest go for another 10 days or so to ripen up before finishing a plant off. I only take as much as I can trim in an hour or so and do a finished trim right off the plant so the leaves don't go all soft and harder to snip. Then the buds go into doubled paper bags to slo-dry down in my cool basement for about 3 or 4 weeks before going into jars for another few weeks of burping.

My CBD girl outside will be lightly trimmed to take off anything without sugar on it then into the freezer until needed to make cocobudder with. The stuff I cut yesterday is edible medicine today.

The friend I got these from said he ordered the seeds online and they were random feminized seeds. Some autos some not. One finished a month ago so I guessing it was an auto. Turned into a beast producing 7 oz of good bud and 5 g iso oil from trimmings. The last few budded later and didn't get the heat and UV rays in early budding so they didn't explode the same. Damn Alberta summers. To short.
