Germination Has Begun: 2nd Attempt At Growing

Just noticing some yellowing tips on one plant. The others look fine. Pretty sure my pH is 6.5 yet think I should try adjusting down to 6.3 see what happens. You can see it in the pic directly above this post.

Day 58. Just finished cleaning the reservoir since we will flip the lights tomorrow. Added nutes for the transition. pH is 6.34 Also took off a few fan leaves from each plant except left the autos alonWill have to dig the 2nd Viparspectra out of storage. Might as well add some red to the tent.

Day 59. We are now in the transition phase. Lights are now 12/12 Wife will probably like the lower electric bill and that harvest is that many days sooner.

Day 60, Day 2 of transition. The redness on some leaves is the red from the blurple.

When you set your timers to 12/12 you tell the plants to start making the switch. Does it happen immediately? Of course not... all you have done is signal to the plant that it is time to change processes.
It does take some time to convert from growing new leaves and nodes at the growth tips, and instead grow a flower there. It takes 7 to 10 days to make that conversion, and when it finally happens, suddenly a bunch of new pistils will explode out of the centre of the growth tips, and it usually happens overnight. This right here, is finally your first day of flower. Veg has finished upon completion of this transition. If you start your bloom period at this point, you will almost always be in sync with breeder recommendations on flowering length.


I should have 4-7 days to go until the flower phase happens. I will also have to raise my lights.

Day 62 and day 4 of transition. I am seeing the white pistils now.

day 63 and day 5 of transition. No water today. Still heavy.

Day 64 and day 6 of transition. Thought for sure I would be watering today but pots are still a bit heavy. Guess they drank a lot the other day.

Day 65 and day 7 of transition. We are getting close to calling it day one of flower. Just gave them a decent watering. Going to mix up flowering nutes in my reservoir later today. One of the autos has a seriously thick bud while the other is tall and lanky. Odd they both came from the same package. Bottom pic is how I water. There is a small pump in my reservoir with a shut off valve.

Today is day 66 day 8 of transition. What the heck. Tomorrow we will call it day 1 of FLOWER.

Day 68 and day 2 of flower. Might even get to water them today after I get our dishwasher installed. Last one lasted 20 years. So much for Sears.......

day 69 and day 3 of flower. The odour is much more intense than last January's grow. I open the tent and get smacked with it. It must be from the autos.

Day 70 and day 4 of flower. Our cat discovered my tent and took a walk around my plants. Did not see him come in my room. He must like the warmth in there. He did not want to come out. Gave the plants a good watering.

Day 71 and day 5 of flower. Gave them a good watering. Sure does smell. Those autos are getting ready......

Day 72 and day 6 of flower. FYI, the orange colour is from the Viparspectra lights.

day 73 and day 7 of flower. Plants are still doing well. If you look at the pic in the centre pic, It shows buds on the left and some buds to the right of the fan. They are the same plant. One is under home made light and the taller one is under the Viparspectra with red lighting on only. I find it odd one stem is taller than another. Could it be lighting. ?????

day 74 and day 8 of flower. Gonna give them a nice watering. Seems I water, skip 2 days, water and repeat.

Day 75 and day 9 of flower. Got home from work to find wetness on floor. Not too sure on the source. It is either too much water for the saucer holding the pots or a malfunction of my dehumidifier. Will see how it plays out later today and tomorrow morning.
