Hydrolab grow tents

bought 2 new hydrolabs the other day and thought I would share my thoughts with you and do a mini review.

I bought the following tents: 80cm x 80cm x 160cm and a 60cm x 60cm x 140cm, one as my main grow tent and the other I'm putting on it's side for my cuttings.

The pictures are of the 80 x 80 tent:

here goes...

Neat little bag and instructions with filter straps packed into the back.

The difference between the 80 x 80 and the 60 x 60 corners, 22mm vs. 16mm. Apparently the 80 x 80 is rated for 80Kg.

Poles look really sturdy and love the way they lock together with the corners.

Frame went together pretty quickly and instructions were clear

One thing I did notice was that one of the cross bars didn't sit quite flush on the frame because the lower bars under it aren't quite deep enough to allow it to rest fully on the framework. I guess though once I've got some kit hanging off it it will just slot into place.

You can see from this shot that the gap isn't all that much of a problem, just me being picky.

As you can see from the photos above the main access door zips were actually in 2 different positions, wasn't a problem though I just ran my finger from one zip to the other, then zipped up the tent to join the zips together.

Like so! Nice branded zips that feel strong and of good quality.

Decent choice of opening, one at rear side and another in the middle for air cooling lights

Good size side access doors.

hooks to hold main door open

ceiling bars actually get pressed into place once the canvas is on so the gap with one of hanging bars isn't a problem. As you can see also, lot of opening at the top of the tent.

Good size intake openings at the bottom, 8" I believe for this tent

water proof catch tray at the bottom, fits really nicely.

Over all the tent feels and looks like a high quality item, I'm very impressed with it especially at £69.99 for the 80 tent and £59.99 for the 60 tent - you can't go wrong, got direct from Hydrolab and arrived the day after I bought it, top service!

I'll get the rest of my kit installed within the next few days and see what it's like for light proofing etc.

But so far..

9.5 out of 10!

Looks good and strong, except for those corner welds which are absolute trash even with farther off view I can tell. It'll likely hold, but they are your weak point.

I own two secret jardin tents and I will never ever buy them again. Leaky as hell water tray in the 5x5 with a huge seam. Cannot buy top bars for added support. Blocks light just fine, no issue there. But with my mega raptor hood It's scary adding anything else. And the leaks/inability to get any service from them is just horrendous.

If I replace mine, I'm leaning towards gorilla, which like yours, appears extremely strong.

Thanks JJ, if I do a gorilla I will.

Have you tried to get replacement parts for SJ?
