Way back in august I decided to buy a temp and humidity monitor as everyone here keeps a close eye on it and I wanted to emulate the successful bounties achieved.
Having had no luck locally, I bought a 'cool' looking one on eBay.
Unfortunately it never arrived. I had to wait over a month for the delivery window to expire as it was coming from China. Thanks a lot, China!!
Refunded I went back online and like a magpie, something caught my eye. For a mere tenner I could get this sensor that monitors the stats and feeds into an app. Cool!! Shut up and take my money!!
No sooner had I bought it that I realised there may need to be a 'gateway' device for it to work. This turned out to be the case.
An extra 30. Dammit! After a week of justifying it I swallowed hard and bought it. Remember, there is no guarantee that it will work at all! This morning the tiny little sensor came, wahoo! So hopefully this gateway will arrive soon. It would be nice to record some sort of humidity reading before I harvest!! In the meantime I have been using a sort of card from SEAI-sustainable energy authority Ireland to monitor temps.
here it's about 20.
