KingCloudy's First/Indoor Grow Journal - Candy Cane - CKS

First that soil looks terrible. Anything with big pieces of bark etc is shit. Get a decent soil with no slow release ferts and put 30% perlite for good aeration. Or make up your own simple mix. Only needs a few things to make a decent soil.

That soil looks similar to the stuff that fried my seedlings. I believe it was because the soil was enriched with too much nitrogen and not enough aeration.

I would definitely check your ph though.
Transferred all 5 girls today. 4 in Dr. Earth Gold and Perlite. I had a fresh bag of Miracle Grow soil laying around so I used that on 1 of them. They're autos so hopefully it doesn't kill them. If so I've got 7 more beans. I'll just be 3.5 weeks behind. We'll see what happens.

In Perth you don't get miracle grow without time release nutes. I didn't know that was a thing. My bad

Yea you can get the seed starting soil with no time released nutes its pretty solid. But I'm no expert. I will go completely organic next grow though. All I'm saying is don't knock it till ya try it eh? Good luck

Day 15 : Update

Girls are looking well, I noticed my pots were holding to much moisture for too long, so decided to put some more holes for aeration at the bottom. Seems to be working a lot nicer.

I just fed the girls, and re did my LST tie downs, thanks to my man Swishaa!

As well, I have lowered my light a good foot, and put in my t5's up the sides of the tent for extra light.

Here are some pictures for everyone. Let me know your thoughts!

As well, as an extra, I found a nice looking seed in a bag I grabbed, and here she is so far.

They look great!

Day 18 : Update

Seems that they really like the LST. The stock of the plants are getting thicker by the day, and everything is just exploding with these. I must be doing something right.

Question: can you LST the second it shows leaves? Tell me your thoughts if you have any. I did read it's good to train early, but curious as to how early.

Here they are!

Cheers everyone!

Very nice lst work. I'm going to try this tonight but I'll be using cut up hangers for stakes. How old are your plants again?

Cool. I'm eager to try an auto so it will be interesting to watch this unfold. I'm a couple days behind you but I'm running photos.

Check your ph. That's usually the first culprit of the problem. That's an obvious answer but without any other info it's my best guess. Any pests present? Twisted growth like that can mean a lot of different things.
