Hi everybody, I'm new here and a first time grower sort of.
(tried to grow outdoors without any idea really, end up growing harsh airy bud)
Been reading what I can on the forum but I'm still lost...lol
All these colors, blue, red, green, full spectrum...etc
I kind of get it but at the same time I don't want to buy 2 different lights or do I ?
And light intensity, Par, Lumens and LUX.
Ok ok I'll never figure it out or at least not right now.

Got a buddy giving me a 3 x 3 grow tent, fan, some nutrients and other stuff.
Just want to grow 2 or 3 plants at a time and I'm liking the LED lights.
(silly question and you see it all the time so don't laugh)
But with a $300 budget is there 1 light that would do the trick?

HLG is the standard for LED lighting these days, but expensive

Hlg is very good but yes a little expensive, mars hydro has a new fs model that the fs3000 I think would fit perfect, I think it’s just over $350, their ts2000 would probably do the job also at about $250, and they r one of our sponsors

I've been looking at LED's on YouTube and everything mentioned sound good.
And they all seem, say or do about the same things.
Dimmable might be the way to go as well.
Mars being a sponsor is there a discount that goes with that?

Make sure the diodes are manufactured by Samsung and the driver by Meanwell

For a 3x3 space ideally you could build your own light to fit.
I built two lights that are 24" x 26" each.
They are 325w each but very efficient and put out way over 1000 PPFD at 18"
One should cover a 3x3 pretty well I would think.
Each one cost me about $380 and very easy to build and honestly probably better than anything off the shelf.

If you don't want to build one then probably Mars Hydro and Budget LED are your best bets.

Just get some version of Samsung LM301B diodes.

$300 budget will get you a sun 315 CMH, and it will be perfect for a 3x3. i use two 315s in a 4x4.

There is always Black Friday deals if you can wait the couple of months. Always good deals online for lights then.

If I had to buy another light, I'd probably go with Budget LED instead of HLG
Loyalty can be fickle when it comes to money

Does that include tax? With the discount codes here you could get a decent 3×3 veg/flower light from Mars Hydro (TSW2000) for $225 with discount (10%) leaves $75 from your previous $300. Then you can snag a little veg light (TS600) for $72 with discount (10%) for a grand total of $297 and be on your way to a little perpetual grow with a seperate veg section.

Definitely look for sales or discounts. I even asked 2 or 3 companys about discounts.
So the Budget LED Series 3 Full Spec was orginally $220 on sale for $210 but with the end of year discount
(12% plus free shipping) I ended up paying $184.80 total.
Leaves me with a little over $100 to play with.
