Mars Hydro TSW 2000

Hello guys. My names Martin, this is my first post so Hi. I'm having a slight problem with my grow light. it's a mars hydro tsw 2000, it's in my 80cmx80x200 grow tent. I started with my light just above 30inch from seedlings running the light at 75% from the dimmer. for the first couple of days things seem to be going well but for the last week it really slowed down. my problem is I have googled best height for the light during seedling and get a mixed opinion from everyone, some say above 30 with the flight on max and some say dim all the way down and have it 14inch away from light. at 75% and 30inch it seems far too bright in there for such a small plant (seedling). I hope someone could shed some light on this for me. Thanks Guys.
Happy Friday

yeah sure. here you go.

Do you really think you need that much light on seedlings? I put my elcheapo full spectrum 30w blurple over mine. About 12in above. You have a lot more power though, just giving it too much power Capt! :) Welcome and good luck

check mars recommendations. they publish figures for each of their lights on height from canopy etc.
@SmokeSara is the online rep, and they have a couple active threads going on their lights.

@Hrenklin Thanks for the post. im using biobizz all mix. i damped it 36 hours before i planted the seed. i used a spray bottle for first 24 hours then just poured the water slowly in a little circle around seedling. the water im using is bottled tesco ashback its ph is around 6.5 out the bottle and e.c about 146 and ppm 76.

im new to the seedling stage. my friend had to get rid of a bubba kush plant few months back he vegged for 8 weeks so i took it off his hands and took over and got myself the gear. i topped it left it a couple of weeks then flipped it. this was my first time ever and managed to get just over 4oz. i was using the same ashbeck water as im using now on seedling and ran into no problems with e.c or ph so thought i would stick with the same water. also im using bio bizz feeds. heres some pics of the bubba kush.

you shouldn't need to feed that soil mix at all right now if it is bio-bizz all. it should be good for at least a couple wks.
should be good to just water and go.

i don't run mars - but for a generic rig i run a simple formula so long as it has a dimmer.

seedling - 30 to 36 inches away dimmed to 50%.
ramp up the light incrementally to 75% or so over the first 3 wks after breaking ground. sometimes this goes faster. increase light intensity as the plant builds.

veg - 30 - 24 inches. ramp the light up from 75% to 90% or full up over 2 - 3 wks during this time. will usually ramp up within the 2 wk period or faster. won't take more than 3. i let the plants reach into the 24 inch mark then raise the light another 6 inches. i run extended veg at the same height if i go long.

flower - 24 inches. run the rig at 90% to full up. i try to keep flower at 24 inches, raise the light as the plants grow in to it.

used to build custom rigs and that is what i recommended to my customers.

this is my veg rig :

it's a 200 watt true draw, good for up to 4 x 4 in veg, i actually run it in a 3 x 3 space and feel it does better there.
your light should be a bit better over all. mars is not the most efficient set up, so we're probably pretty close.

hope that helps. :)

lol it's right in the mars website :

What is the recommended hanging height and hanging hours ?

During seedling: 18/6 or 20/4; above 30''
During veg: 18/6 or 20/4; 18~24'' above canopy
During flowering: 12/12; 12~18'' above canopy

it's in the tsw 2000 faq
