MrCanada’s Organic NY Diesel CBD 2022

I won't bore you with the details - most seeds started early to mid May. The auto did OK and the only other seed from known origin was looking good in a laundry tub, suddenly started to lose all the fans and I'm thinking it became over run by mites. The large plants in the back, in the ground looked great but I harvested a bit early because of bud rot and grandchildren coming for Thanksgiving!!! The rest I kept in the greenhouse but bud rot and gawd knows what seem to take all the life out of them so I harvested earlier than I wanted just to be done with it.

love the laundry wheel barrel style grow pots... Think Im gonna make a few of those myself great diy idea! :)

The bud rot is tough, I have experienced this outdoors too. I wish I had some advise others than harvesting before it happens but I don’t. I am curious if the reason the plants in the ground did better is due to the root zone. Those front plants aren’t in huge pots and I wonder if they became root bound? I have found in my experience pests don’t typically gain steam unless the plants stressed. Most issues I have run into have been root related.
Hey folks thought I would share this ....I was told never to leave pot plants out in the rain and to do your own watering regiments not mother nature and to keep them dry as possible during early morning dew in late September early october to avoid bud rot. If in the ground cover with see threw plastic green house. Hope that helps you out on your next run. :)

Quick update!

Only one seed popped yet. Couple days ahead of the other two, they are doing their thing just slowly.

Got my catch tray all cleaned and the 1 gals ready for the seedlings when they’re more mature. Hoping by the end of the week we’ll be cooking with gas.

Can't see it well in the photo but they are under glass - I think it was just a humid year.
Yes that's true it was a rather humid season last year. Hope this year is more on the drier side of things...

I like that style, I won’t be sinking mine anymore.

I think the lighting might have been causing the overly yellow look. Looking green now.

As far as moisture I had just watered the plugs and I had them a little over soaked worrying about the seeds drying out.

Some good news/bad news from the garden.

Let’s start with the bad. It appears 2/3 of the seeds aren’t going to pop so this is going to turn into a one plant grow. This isn’t horrible for me as this grow is for fun and not for a big harvest.

The good news is the HLG 135w showed up today and is hanging in the tent. Also the one seedling is looking happy and planted in its one gallon!

Things are moving around here, slowly however. A little bit of yellow showing through on the initial leaves. I suspect some stress from the new intense light and possibly the super soil.

That aside I anticipate the plant will start taking off here soon as it establishes its root zone. I have raised the lights and will monitor the colour of the leaves however I am not worried about it.

New growth is looking quite a bit better. Not sure why the seedling wasn’t super happy but it seems on track now.

Things have felt slow up to this point but we’re in the stage now where the roots are gaining steam; so is the plant.

I’ll be waiting probably 3-4 weeks before I brew some compost tea. Everything’s looking good here!

On a side note I have my broken HLG100 at the repair shop, they think it can be fixed!

This is probably my favourite part of the grow. When the roots really establish themselves and the plant takes hold!

I am a bit surprised but I am already seeing roots out of the bottom of the 1 gallon pot. Even more surprising to me is seeing secondary growth already at the first nodes. I’m sure it’s not unheard of however in my experience there’s typically not that growth at this point.

Happy plant = happy gardener!

Hey y’all, quick update tonight. As per usual for this stage the plants growing very fast. Secondary growth is great.

That being said there’s a little bit of light green showing on the leaves which is annoying. I’m suspecting it’s due to the new HLG150. Probably a little overkill for this stage of things. I have raised it quite a bit and using primarily the HLG 100. Thinking maybe turn the 150 off until it’s more mature.

Some minor burning on the original leaves, likely from putting in super soil too soon but nothing of major concern.

I won’t be making any changes other than raising the lights and experimenting with the distance. Happy with the growth overall.

Well I transplanted Monday, a little too early and hurt some roots. My mistake. Plant looked really sad all week however tonight the plant is showing some recovery.

Back on track and ready to really stretch those roots out into the 7gallon.

Things are on track over here. Roots are still taking form, plants stacking nicely, going to be a real thick stem on this girl, and she’s got some real thic leaves too. Probably 1-2 weeks out from stripping some of the bottom and starting some low stress training.
