-Emptied Rez
-Soaked Rez in bleach solution for an hour
-Soaked airstones in bleach solution for an hour.
-Rinsed all thoroughly, ran airstones in fresh water for 5 minutes
-Filled Rez with fresh water and 2ml/gal of hydrogen

Trying to fix this:

Week 4:

Plants are still recovering. I have not changed the rez as of yet. This is 7 days since last change. See above.

On 2/18 I added 6tsp of CaliMagic to the rez because the roots have begun reaching the water. The leaves showed signs of over watering, Ca-Mg deficiency, and N deficiency. This was indicated by the new lime green growth and yellowing of old leaves as well as brown spots on the leaves.

The plants are recovering nicely:

I forgot to include specifics:

Air temp: 80°F
Nutes: 0
Supplements: 1/2 dose of hydroguard from week prior
6 tsp of CaliMagic
pH: 5.89 when tested, lowered to 5.65
Smell: none
Light Schedule: 18:6

They definitely need some Nutrients ! My next question would be how well did you rinse your hydroton ? The pH shouldn't be fluctuating very much, if at all.
One Love and much Respect !!

Bed and Red,

Here's why no nutes:
MReilly DWC Seedling Help

TLDR; about killed these guys a few weeks ago. Tried the "wicking" methods, caused over watering. Then slime. Then too much nutes due to over watering.

Washed all new hydroton, soaked in pH solution, then added plants in after bleaching the hell out of the rez, stones, tubes, etc.

Also learned the cabinet temp was too low. I keep it at 80°F now with a space heater. I am going to seal the cabinet up but first install a non-luminous infrared system to keep the temp around 80°F all the time, even with lights out.

Week 6

Tues 2/28
Emptied Rez. Roots look good.

Filled with 8 gallons RO water.
Added Nutes:
Micro- 2.5 tsp
Gro-2.5tsp
Bloom- 2.0tsp
CaliMagic- 8tsp
Hydroguard- 16tsp

Realized I added CaliMagic almost last. May have screwed uo

Re-aligned air stones before nutes and water.

pH fluctuations are insane now. Probably due to RO.

Some leaves on a plant have brown spots. Probably due to pH fluctuations.

Plants are growing really well. Lowered light to 16in above plants.

This grow failed due to a wind storm that killed power to my area for over a week. Temp plummeted to around 55°F. Air in water was gone, plants were hurting.

In the spring / summer I started a soil grow. Plants got out of control. Pics incoming.

Hope all is well in your world.

Thanks for sharing this with us, we are sorry for your loss.

I’m moving this to Completed Journals now.
