That can't be nutrient burn as I have 0 nutrients in the water at the moment.

Ideas?

Is that cal mag deficiency or N deficiency?

I have already made a couple attempts to tell you what is probably wrong, and you didn't want to address them or talk about them.

Even if there are no nutrients in the water, it still needs to be the proper pH, and contain some level of trace minerals etc.

I think your plants look overwatered. A lot. Look at the medium, it's staying too wet. What's under the white lids? Why don't you cover the lids? I can guarantee you that light is getting through them. As I said before.

DemeterCeres,

Sorry I didn't clarify before, looks like my post didn't really post.

Over verified no light is getting in. Put my cell phone in the empty rez with the light on, cover on Rez, and plants in. Turned off light in room. No light escaped.

PH never gets higher than 6.3 and no lower than 5.4. I have been keeping it between 5.58 and 6.23.

Here are the contents under lids and the view into the rez water.

So my seedling stems are a purplish red. Not bright red, but "fresh plant" red. Any ideas. Haven't top watered in 7 days. Plants are growing greener since I added cal-mag. Pretty sure they are going to start looking for nutes soon.

Are you using rock wool under the hydrotin? The hydrotin is like a wick so if u believe it's staying to wet is lower the Rez water level so that the air bubbles r hitting the bottom and it will wick it up to the rock wool. U can find duct tape that is Reflective and color your whole Rez and lid it will actually keep the Rez temp down and all light out. I start with ro water only until the seed plant starts to brown the first set of leaves then I do my 3 part mix @1/4 % of recommended dosage also adding great white bacteria the then ph it to 6.0 and over the next 2 days or so it may need minor adjustments but after that it should b smooth sailing. I've found out that my Rez stays 5* cooler from the reflective tape. What type o water do u start with and what's the ppm and ph before u add anything

Iceman,

I added 1/2 the recommended nutrients last night. Basically 1tsp for 9 gallons. 1/8 two per gallon.

Added the full dose of hydroguard.

Checked on the plants this afternoon, they look like they liked it.

Started with tap water I let sit out for a day. My problem was that I did use some warm water too make sure I didn't shock the plants. Apparently water heaters are a brewing ground for bad bacteria.

I will tape up my rez next time I dump it. It's made from an igloo cooler. The lid is already taped up.

The real progress I think has come from increasing the heat in the cabinet. It was barely 70, now it's between 80-85.

Since I have roots now, would I bring the water to just below the netpots?

Thanks

MR

I've grown as low as 3 inches below the net pot I believe once u have a good root system u can keep it lower and allow the roots to take oxygen and with the 85* that's not bad but keep a eye on your Rez temp keep it low as posable also make sure u have as much air as u can pump in keeps everything mixed and gives really good oxygen to the roots just keep a eye on the ph and temperatures and it will grow .

The pH is stable around 5.8 at the moment. Some roots are in the water, others are almost there. The ones that have made it to the water have grown much.

I'll have to get a thermometer to measure the rez temp since adding heat.

The humidity has ticked up from around 40% to about 51% since the growth explosion.

Roots are bright white, leaves are a good green. Will probably have to go to 1/4 tsp per gallon if they still look like they suffer from nutrient deficiency.

Oddly enough there isn't much stretch, just leaves upon leaves with little height growth. The stems are just getting greener and thicker on the one's whose roots reached the water.

Oh, I'm running 2 air pumps with 4 air stones total.

It sounds like u have it well under control check eBay for a ppm/ temp meter they r really cheep may as well pick up a ph pen also I believe they come in a kit for $25 they r very important tools now with your humidity going up that's good but kinda tells me your Rez temp is also going up re temp is really important what I do is add water from the fridge to the Rez I don't pore directly on roots it may shock them but if u do weekly water changes with the z7 or great white treatment u will b fine

U will b very surprised when she takes off my bace stem was 1 1/2 inches around it was huge I c your net pot looks kinda small I believe after this grow u will b changing your buckets lids

I would leave it where it is and let them grow up into it.

They are looking good and should start to grow much faster over the next week or so.

To me it looks like their roots must be doing better.

They don't need much light at this point in veg and the looks like a 5w led with lenses and that could burn them up if you put it to close at this point real fast.

Looks like what they really need is just a little more time.

It's a 300W LED. The manufacturer says 18 inches after 2 weeks. I assume that meant healthy plants, I stunted mine.

I'll watch them over the next few weeks.

My self I would lower the light a little bit it looks kinda high but do I c a ppm/temp meter lying on your lid if so that's a good tool right there as long as u learn how to use it but the plants r looking a lot better keep it up
