Good Morning! 75th Day of Flower! Took some trich pics under the LED's this morning so not the best but should give you guys an idea of where we are at...


Legz Trichs...

The Freak's Trichs...

I will probably take a sample branch today and get better pics with the microscope. At this point I am seeing some yellowing in the leaves and there is a little bit of amber on Legz.

It is terribly exciting to think harvest is nearly here!

Well I wussed out of taking a whole branch for a sample. I cut a tiny piece of a top bud of Legz and this is what it looks like...

I think she is officially ready for the 2 day flush...What do you guys think??
Unfortunately I can't put her in 2 days of darkness during the flush, she will just have to be flushed under regular 12/12. That won't hurt anything, will it?

Keep in mind I am a rookie too....but they both look ready to consume plain h2o for a nice flush to allow for best flavor. Flush and harvest away my friend. Good luck with the cut and cure. Go4it!

So exciting! I think you're right, they look ready! Looks like the flush will start today and I will be able to give them both 24-48 hours of darkness before harvest!

LALG, I used math to say yay or nay on your harvest. I counted the number of trichs on your final pic for the freak and determined that about 50% show amber. That is what I'll be looking for here in about a month or so as well. Once again, communicate with the plant, they will tell us what is next. Yours are saying they are ready to make the ultimate sacrifice so you may enjoy the final outcome.

I wonder, do the top buds mature that much faster than the lower popcorn buds? I just clipped a frosty sugar leaf from lower on the plant and its trichs looked about 50/50 cloudy clear. The trichs in the earlier pics were from actual buds at the top. If they are amber and the lower trichs are more clear would that mean different parts of the plant will have different affects? Keep in mind it was a sugar leaf from the bottom, do they show amber earlier or later than the actual buds?

It has been noted from other journals that the top buds can mature faster than those below. I'll try to find an example for you. But it was stated that those buds that are ready can be harvested and allow the others more time. Or you may harvest the entire plant and like you stated, you would have different types of buzz from the different maturity levels.

Yes the top will mature before the lower parts. Just do an average.
Some will cut the top and wait for the rest, but not me!

Instead of drying a couple of days then curing. They dry in a fridge for over 2 weeks then cure.

Slow drying = better smell and taste!

I have wondered about the partial harvest. I haven't researched it too much or haven't been able to find an abundance of info. I wonder how a flush would work with a partial harvest in DWC? Flush the whole plant, harvest top buds, add nutes and let grow longer? Hmm?

I will definitely check out the slow drying thread. I have mason jars and boveda packs for now.

I will probably just flush both, turn the lights out for about 36-48 hours and harvest both.

Day 76 of Flower update...

Today had made 17 days since my last water change. I was going to just go ahead and flush them but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I just did a regular water change and stepped the nutes down to about half of what I have been doing. I guess its sort of a step down towards the flush which I plan on doing in the next week or two. I really just want to see a bit more amber I guess. The clear/amber is messing with me so I figure I should just wait a bit longer, I don't think it could hurt, right?

More amber = more couchlock.
Your leaves look more sativa, so you can have more amber. A big fat indica would be best with fewer amber.

But again it's more a personal taste. I have a mostly sativa, and I will harvest her as soon has I see amber!

77th Day of Flower - Eleven Full Weeks

Good Morning! So I took a sample branch yesterday and let her sit in ph'd water overnight to see if it would kind of cure it. I think it did help cut down on throat irritation. The buzz is really good, very heady. I think I made the right decision to wait and just sample, another few days and more amber may help. Maybe I'm just not used to having this high quality of medicine. I normally take a whole bowl but with this I only need 2 or 3 puffs. No headache, anxiety or paranoia thus far. I think I will let them mature a bit longer, at least another day or two. I actually squeezed one of the buds on The Freak today (never really done that) and oh my it is dense as can be! Feels like a block of wood more than a bud lol.

LALG, it is very cool that your plants are producing such great medicine. I am looking to allow my babies get good and amber also. I am looking for that couch lock, put me down medicine. When the buds from these seeds were originally consumed, they were get up and go type of buzz. Let's see if I can change that to a couch lock type of buzz. Time will tell. Again, awesome that you are reaching success on these ladies. WTG!

Good Morning everyone! Today is the 78th day of flower and officially flush day! Started the flush this morning and turned the lights out at 9:30. Darkness has fallen on them! 2 days from now I will be harvesting! So exciting!

Lol! Definitely not my last grow, I'm just getting started! Unfortunately, I do not have clones of my ladies : (

I have a couple new girls going but I am going to be moving soon, I hope it is not too hard on them.
