My First Time Grow Journal: Pictures, Descriptions, Timelines

I don't adjust mine as long as your under 7 and over 5 it's fine.

Another option you could just harvest the main bud when ready and reveg the rest of the plant, rather than cutting it off now as a clone you get a prebuilt root system at that point, less likely to lose the plant.

I would do that if this plant didn't look like crap. It's been through so much stress. I would rather start with a clone fresh and try to make it as potent and beautiful as possible.

Smells like skunk mmmm!

Anyways, I couldn't put it in straight water due to the fact the cutting is so short. I ended up sticking it in soil and hoping for the best. Here are some pictures.

It was really hard to get a sharp angel cut on such a small plant.

If the clone fails @TurboBucket , could I still harvest one branch and reveg the other?

They say if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all:

Seems like my topped plant may be a male, what do you good people think?

Yes sir, I'm pretty sure he's hanging.

Wellllllll, new plan...take the one female I have to harvest. In the meantime, I will keep my fingers crossed for the clone to take root. I may even do what @TurboBucket said: harvest one stem and save the other for reveg.

Would it be possible to harvest one stem just because IT IS MY FIRST and I want to try it lol, and take the other stem to the end of the life cycle and try to get feminized seeds?

So last night I ordered a few batches of my favorite strains. I was more happy than disappointed to find this in my herb. What do you guys think? Operation Bag Seed?

I was reading about ways to tell if your plant is female/male before the flower cycle. From what I gather within 3-4 weeks the plant will show you its pre flowers. Also, another cool way I read about is taking a clone off the plant and forcing that cutting into flower.

Any input would be appreciated!

I keep a Bagseed strain around but I know it was pollinated with male pollen.
The problem with Bagseed is they tend to come from what should have been sensimilia so it's typically been pollinated by a hermaphrodite which is a less than desirable trait to pass on.

There is no way to tell sex before flowering. There's an emerging market testing tissue samples to verify sex early. $$ usually only used by commercial ops requires mailing in a sample.

The best way is as you mentioned take a clone as soon as possible and rooting it under 12/12 it will usually show it's parts in 3-4 weeks depending on how long it takes it to actually root.

Think the clone is doing ok? It's been since Thursday.

Oops. I was avoid spraying the leaves. I have a bag over her, but I'm about to construct something even better. These are two pictures. One was taken the day after cutting, the other taken today.

Nice she's doing something then. The yellowing is an indicator that the plant is using it's stored energy for growing new parts. Be careful to avoid over watering the soil at this point I would just spray the soil when your spraying the leaves/dome once or twice a day. Moist not wet is key.
