Should I take the glass out?

I've got a nice little closet grow going on, with one 400w covering my 10 sq ft.
I've got a nice hood, with glass and 6" duct ends. I currently have my closet vented through the light. Heat is not an issue for me, I have my fan dialed all the way back and get 72 degree room temps at the most. leaf temp hits 81 when checked w/ infrared. Should i leave the glass in my reflector, and keep it nice and close to the plants--- or ditch the glass and raise up a little higher.

more light the plants get the better as long as it does not burn the leaves .....

The glass not only acts as a heat sink (radiating heat towards plants), it also steals lumens that your plants can use.

If you are not air cooling your lite, remove the glass.

the glass is also there for safety get a hot bulb wet and see what can happen,most hoods are not U.L. approved with out glass to protect the bulb
