Should I trim the small shoots growing off the lower branches?

These small shoots are showing up on the lower branches of the plant should I trim them or just leave em be?

I chop them off, they will only ever be popcorn buds that won't ripen properly

I took these pics today, I'm on a 12/12 cycle how long does flowering stage normally take

Really? 8-12 weeks is average if such a thing exists

I usually do this kind of trimming and pruning when I transfer my plants to the flowering greenhouse. I just did it this morning with three plants... trimmed off small lower branches, trimmed off shoots lower down on branches, and "opened up" the upper part of the plants – i.e. removed some internal shoots beneath the upper, main growth.
