The Quadsquad Thread: A Community For Quadlining

Nicely done Falsetto. Always second guess myself when defoliation comes about.
Looking good in this house
cheers gramps!!

quite pleased with it, i could have been more aggressive with some of the suckers i left, but il use them as early cut testers lol

i cant get over the canopy on this unkown strain though,

someone above was talking about scrogging with a quad

have to agree there. problem with a scrog is always going to be the rigidity. I think with quads , it ends up as skeletal support rather than spreading them out imho. handy for a sativa quad maybe as you said but hopefully structure built well enough should take out the need for the net.
wow those ladies look crazy big. nice work

I was worried i had not took enough leaf off in the defol to allow penetration but i think i have it about right looking below it. There is shade but not not as much as i expected. light reaches quite deep into it so should help the lower ones develop. I am hoping to oick up sone good tips for the upcoming autos. never done them before but want to quad them
At day 10 actual flowering

This thread is just full of beautiful plants and such a variety. Everyone seems to be having an excellent grow this round!

@falstaffo . What is the strain of the plant you were showcasing the level canopy on? I saw in a previous post it was labeled “subs”. Love the leaves on her. Reminds me of my Pugsbreath leaves. OG Kush Breath genes coming through on that one. Very pretty plant brother!

I'm seriously going to give this a try on my next grow.
Or, I might do it now to my "brothers plant" he named Tiny Tina, as he planted it then left me to take care of it. It's farther behind my Ladies so she may be a prime candidate.

Beautiful looking ladies in this thread for sure.

subs is correct - strain unkown, bag seed,

but is starting to develop a musky aroma,
i am beginning to wonder if it is a seed from some cookies kush we had a while back. either that or cherry pie..

Couldnt agree more Mr Magoo. see some beauties on this thread. Showcases the method so well too. Seeing all the same results , regardless of strain, lights , feeds ect is proof positive of the method. Should inspire confidence for new converts and interested parties too. hoping to make it a staple method for all grows now. have to reararch the auto quad now though for next round.

hedzenmedz update - harvest & wash Q-line Gorilla plus manifolded LA Confidential
After 133 days from the seedling popping thru the soil, our quadline Gorilla and mainline LA Confidential have been harvested, washed & hung to dry. The quadlined Bad Azz Kush is coming along nicely, however, not enough amber trics yet.
A few thoughts;
  • Will not be mainlining again - growth was stunted and never recovered. Small yield realized for the amount of effort that went into it.
  • Happy with the Gorilla structure and yield. Will report back once trimmed and dried as to the amount
  • With both the above grows, we had constant spider mite issues. There were never that many at any one time and we were never able to completely eradicate them. Funny that they have not affected the Bad Azz Kush alongside in the same tent. I have gone over this plant numerous times each week looking for pests. As yet, have fond none. Once the BAK has been harvested, I will report back as to the yield.
  • My biggest lesson learned from this grow so far was pest management thru trial and error. Will never use the sulphur powder again. Had limited success with a peroxide spray and will be trying out CO2 for IPM on our next grow. I’m working on an idea for how to improve IPM with CO2 for our new grow of quadlined clones which I will start a new journal for soon.
  • I was out of town earlier in the week and had to leave our clones unattended for about 30 hours (no spritzing of the clones or the dome during this time). Came up with the idea to put a moistened sponge under the dome with clones. It worked out - none died.
Namaste everyone — have a great weekend!

I like room temp water in all the buckets....or luke warm. May not matter but I remember someone telling me why and it made sense. Lol. But damned if I can remember what they said! :lot-o-toke:

Okay, so today was the final quadline LST for my three OG Kush autos.. They have pistils showing, and are starting their stretch. And they're stretching fast. Here are a top and side view of each one, plus a family pic showing them and my eight photo girls (Peyote Critical, Girl Scout Cookies, Cheese, and Northern Lights) that I'm quadlining also. Because of the limitations of the tent size and lighting height, It looks like I'm gonna have to move the the autos to the flower tent this weekend. I hate to do it, but the photo girls need the space and light that's becoming blocked by the autos.

Found it.
Some great examples here of whats possible.
I started and two of the first three have suffered but going to persevere with the training as the manifold structure shows echoes of elegance for the plant and for yield.
Despite the damage, lessons learned so waiting on next three hitting node 6 now.
And a special mention to @Asesino85 for kicking this thread off..
Great stuff all.
