how do you take care of like pest and animals outdoors?

I don't have to worry about animals eating my garden, my backyard is very safe, as far as pests go I don't have any bugs that cause problems, and every year I go buy a whole bunch of ladybugs and turn them loose in the backyard, I also have praying mantis in the garden.

what type of soil and nutrients do you give your plants

The only thing i am giving them for the veg growth is organic chicken shit, the soil is a mix of fox farms ocean forrest vermiculite perilite and organic compost
