1st Grow - Fabzster - MarsLED - Bubbleponics - Bubba Kush, Confidential Cheese - 2017

Re: 1st Grow - Fabzster - MarsLED - Bubbleponics - Bubba Kush, Confidential Cheese -

A method for germinaiting that works for me is to start them in soil and let them go for a couple weeks. Then carefully pull them from the soil and rinse as much as possible off. then transplant to hydro. I personally stoped using rockwool and root riot cubes on my last one that's going right now. Just a net pot and some styrofoam as a plug.

There seems to be slight growth, on the leaves but nothing so far as root growth

See pic below the left is on the 01 June and the right is 04 June, lets hope this is a sign that we are moving in the right direction.
Apologies for the pic on the left it's a bit blurry.

Hey man, it's been a couple days. What's happening with your plant!

Green Leaves and Good Vibes

Re: 1st Grow - Fabzster - MarsLED - Bubbleponics - Bubba Kush, Confidential Cheese -

Guy's thank you so much for your continued support, it is appreciated. My plants are recuperating and we are looking good so far, growth has been stunted and it's crazy to think that I should be switching to flower "time wise" but they are too small and would need to catch up before I do that.

Time for a little catch up :)

I was not sure if the confidential seedling would make it, so I added a seed directly in hydroton for some insurance

The new critical seed germinated (I will definitely germinate this way again, much better. Rockwool can kiss my ass)
Some new root growth

K, so all plants are doing well just super behind and really small, no problem at least they are not dead. My second grow is going to go much smoother.

Yea and I'm not sold on bubbleponics. It seems like more trouble than it's worth. The plants really take off once their roots touch down in the res. I might omit it in the future. What do you think?

I did an experiment in which I put the bottom half inch of a small pot filled with hydroton in water to see if it would "wick" at all, and it did very well. Soon all the hydroton in the entire small pot was wet. Based on that, I think you could just adjust the water level to touch the bottom of the pot and skip pumping water to the top. If that didn't provide enough moisture, you could rig up some kind of actual wick or add coco coir to wick and retain moisture. And of course it wouldn't be that much of a challenge just to hand water the hydroton for the few days that it takes the tap root to climb down to the reservoir. In my experience, that happens very quickly--in a matter of a few days--so that seems do-able.

In any case, it seems to me that it would be easy to rig things up in such a way as to skip the complexity and cost of a pump.

Hi bud

I don't know hey, I quite prefer bubbleponics (I am running the bag seed in coco perlite). If you only want to remove the top feed portion then its plain DWC, I have seen some people use the top fed system for the first couple of weeks and then remove it and run just DWC.

That's kind of my point. The cost and complexity of top feed is only justified until the roots hit water, and the roots hit water very quickly, so next time I'm gonna just simplify!

This was my point. I like the idea of top feeding though

Oh, wait... is that the one that got topped and trained in the bottom shot? In any case, all look great!

hahahha

Yeah, I already defoliated the bottom growth when she was topped, the first pic is how bushy she got again and the last pic is the same one that I am further training to try get the top branches to come down a bit.

I do think you are right about removing some more leaves, but that would just make it bushier wouldn't it?
