Hey everyone!!!! I very much appreciate everyone here at 420 mag!!! My 1st grow was very sucessfull thanks to months of research, a few very wickid smart grower buddies, as well as all of you here at 420mag!!! Thank you!!!

I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out, way better than expected. All 3 strains are very potent, cured to perfection and very strong smelling and tasting!!!!! way to go soil and organics!!!!

I am very near getting grow #2 underway but have a few questions....

I will be doing the University Hill's OG again, along with a replication of the original F1 OG kush (named socaldam OG) as well as a strain called Cali Candy (OG x Chocolope)

My 1st question is this: I have 3 gallon plastic pots, 5 gallon plastic pots....
I will be working with clones......Is it better to start in smaller pots and work my way up by transplanting once or twice, or better to just plant the clones in the 5 gallon pots. I also was suggested to use smart pots and was wondering if this would be of great benefit to me???

My last grow, I started off in the 3 gallons and before flowering, the plants were not rootbound but definitely showed minor root circling at this point of the grow, but the 5 gallon pots showed no issues with root circling at the harvest....so what should I do?????

Everything else with this grow should be about the same as last time, with many notes taken....

I will be using a 50/50 mix of Ocean forest soil with Happy frog soil instead of last time only using happy frog....I will be using the same setup, a lower 1/3 supersoil mixture with added guano's and worm casings...the ones used will be determined by if I will be transplanting or just starting in the big pots....

Nutrients will be the earth juice line again, but I will be trying a new humic acid....H2 by Advanced Nutrients... All other nutrients used will be the same as last grow...

Please stay tuned and check out my next grow journal which should be popping up in the next few days,...also vote for me in the plant of the month and nug of the month contests!!!!

I always say less transplants the better, allows roots to stretch out more, meaning faster healthier growth . Smartpots will up this even further, but I would prefer airpots, and would rate them as twice their size compared to a standard pot, ie, 3gal airpot = about 6gal standard, because the reduction of rootbound plants . GREAT JOB!!! Been here since the beginning and can't wait until the next round.:welldone::peacetwo::popcorn::Namaste:

Go with the 5gal, yes GT is right less transplant is better. The 5gal will have more space for the foundation to expand the higher the towers. If you really want to know if the smart pot works for you, throw one in and see how it goes. I've seen growers with it and had great success. Though it is not always one thing that made a success grow, it's the total environment with lights, nutes, air circulation, temp, RH, etc...

Looking forward to your next batch!
