A New Chapter: First Indoor Grow With NextLight Mega

We have been hot, hot and more hot! Weeds are crunchy under foot....no rain for me. We have been trucking in water to trickle fill the well for a couple weeks now.
We brought in a tanker load at the beginning of the season for the pool and hot tub, and filled several 1000 liter cubes we have just for that. Life is a struggle here in the country some says. Thankfully my outdoor girls in ground have their own water source and don’t rely on me

Sounds like your getting the summer that Alberta normally gets. This year and the year before we get rain everyday pretty well!! The year before it was super dry and Forrest fires were everywhere. We didn’t have much of a summer that year either because it was so Smokey all the time.

we’ve got a hot tub too, we never use it though. We were thinking of selling it this year... don’t know if we will do it this year or not. We always say let’s get rid of it, we never use it. Then when we use it, we’re all like “ahhhhhhhhhhh” “that’s nice!” :laughtwo:

We have been busy over last 5 years building addition on out house....in the Reno we build the hot tub inside, sunken into the floor. It sits between the woodstove in my living room and the door to my bedroom...mostly log style addition built by us. Soooooo nice in the cold weather :D The older I get the better it is lol I’m always saying that it some of the best money we ever spent.

So many garden stories and so little time lol
Thing have been rolling along quite quickly in the tent of late. The Dark Widow Auto was chopped at day 83. She smells very much like the Dark Devil but with some hints of citrus in the mix. Dried in jars she gave me 3 oz of beautiful looking buds. On early smoke before jars she has nice spicy notes with lavender on inhale, and almost grape and citrus on exhale. The high was quite euphoric and heady!! Can’t wait to taste after cure.

My goal moving forward is to do a run of Autoflowers with proper 18 hours of light. I am very impressed with how they turned out having been in the 12/12 tent with the photos. I am
convinced though that they are better than they would have been outdoors. Bugs here LOVE purple plants lol
So far I’m happy with the supersoil mix. All plants have received nothing but water and seem to be chugging along just fine.

And then it happened.........banana attack noted on the lower branches of the green crack at just over 8 weeks of flower!!
I removed the netting from the screen and chopped the upper branches where she stood, then bagged the remains with fans off and eased her out of the tent. Thank goodness for that side door!!
All in all she looked pretty good, and dried we ended up with just over 200 grams! I’ll take that. The early dried buds taste just like the plant from last year...fruity goodness! I’m a little bummed I had to take her early...but hey...I guess sometimes you just have to roll with it.

That left two in the tent to keep me going!
Sure is bare looking

I was forced to take out pipe cleaners to hold up some branches....even though I swore I would not! Still have nightmares from having to use over 500 in greenhouse last year lmao
As harvest day draws closer I couldn’t be more excited!

Day 62 of flower.
Been checking trichromes daily now and I think the time has come!!Belladonna is an 8-9 week strain and Blue Cindy is 9. There is a huge difference in the buds of these two and it has been obvious for some time that the Belladonna would finish first.

wet weight on the 6 of the largest buds was around 120g each!
She smells skunky and fruity and the buds are super dense. She really is a beautiful plant...hoping she smokes like she looks.

And then there was one...Blue Cindy alone in the tent.

She has by far the largest buds of all my plants, and reeks of fruity goodness. Still lots of white hairs, trichromes coming along but not done yet. I work all Friday, Saturday and Sunday so that will help to pass the time for me as I wait for her to finish.

She's a beauty kanda! 3 zips in 12/12 huh? You have a good one there. The taste profile sounds delicious to man. Awesome!

I was quite impressed with her. Topped her trained her and gave her a VERY heavy dose of supersoil in 1 gallon plastic pot.

Stretching is good and is the path to building big tall coals. Stretch goes on for 2 weeks and light intensity should not have any thing to do with little stretch. Outdoor grows can double in size during the stretch and they have the most intense light. Your plants got so tall when you put them outside because they had more intense lighting and could grow the stretch.

You guys are saying your LEDs are more powerful than the sun?
For 3/4 of the year my outdoor DLI doesn't get over 40. For almost half, it doesn't even reach 30. Greenhouses regularly supplement PAR light for cannabis, even in Arizona (I recognize that glazing and poly block probably 20-60% of sunlight, nonetheless it still supports the point, I believe). My, potentially mistaken, understanding is that the sun penetrates further than LED and HPS, but that it is a function of light quality, ie the wavelength breakdown. I thought that a simple flux measurement comes out in a high-powered fixture's favour, n'est pas? If I'm wrong I def need to know - I don't think I can hijack a 2-yr-old thread, can I? Anyway, anyone read's this and I'm wrong, please advise.

wow... that light is really producing. I have seen 4 week buds not look that good!
Yeah, this light is amazing. If I hadn't rec'd a two for one on my Kingbrite 1100w I would be feeling buyer's remorse b/c this was my second choice and its a better light. A FIVE-year, complete, no questions asked warranty!?... that's worth paying for because it means that high-quality craftsmanship is baked into their business model. Result: this light is build-wise superior in almost every way to all the 600w-800w quantum board consumer lights out there for 650$, as such I feel like this at 1000$ is actually the value proposition.
