HiighTide’s Perpetual & Organically Amended Garden

This is my second attempt at keeping a journal. I’ve completed one full calendar year of growing with 4 harvests. Two were indoor, one was outdoor and the last was started outdoor and finished the last 4 weeks indoor due to seasons changing and them not getting enough light to finish in the sun and still, I can’t learn enough. In my four grows I’ve experienced my whole first crop herming and I have at least a lb of fem seeds as a result. Three of the seeds have been grown out already and more are getting ready to be flipped. I’ve ran into major PK deficiencies week three flower on my second grow as a result of improperly mixing my super soil recipe. My outdoor grow ran into PM and bud rot followed shortly after the vinegar wash. The outdoor/indoor grow caught a bad infestation of spider mites that I unknowingly brought inside when the seasons changed. I found them while checking trichomes when I saw something moving through the loupe. I watched them build a web over the next few weeks.
I’ve ran into my fair share of troubles on this expedition but one thing I did not do was give up. Each grow, 1-4 every problem that I encountered was eventually remedied and the grow was completed to its entirety, harvested, cured and enjoyed.
After sterilizing the grow rooms from the mites I am a couple of weeks away from flipping the survivors of the mites that were in veg at the time of the infestation and vegging new strains and clones from those about to be flowered.

While fighting the mite infestation I didn’t top or train the ladies because I didn’t want to add anymore stress than they were already experiencing and they grew too large vertically to flower out in flower room 2, so I built a scrog. This is my first scrog and I think I’m going at it correctly. We shall see.

Beautiful work brother. I'll tag along and watch it looks terrific.

Current strains:
Scrog
One White & Pink Runtz clones that are 6 months old
One Pink Runtz that’s 6 months from seed
One Fire OG that’s 8 months from seed. These seeds are from my 1st grow that herm’d and pollinated the entire room. Im still kicking myself for not collecting pollen, but I didn’t because I assumed the herm came from genetics and not stress. I did collect a lb of seeds from them though. As soon as I get them fully recovered I’ll flip and flower them out.
One Grape Biscotti Sundae that’s 3 months from Cannarado Genetics Reg Seeds

I also have another White Runtz from bag seed that’s 2 months old & a Sundae Driver (Cannarado Genetics Reg Seeds) that’s 3 months old currently vegging hidden underneath the scrog. They both also survived the mite infestation. I’ll move these 2 to veg with the others when I flip the scrog to flower. I’ll also take clones from the Grape Biscotti Sundae (Cannarado Genetics Reg Seeds) and a few more from the White Runtz before flowering.

Top dressed the scrog today using DTE Fish Bone Meal 3-16-0 to clear the purpling on the stalks & petioles.

Also took two small cuttings from the White Runtz & one cutting from the Grape Biscotti Sundae. I’ll let them soak in plain water for 24 hrs and then transplant them into solo’s to begin the rooting process.

During my first indoor soil grow the n, p & k deficiencies really caught me off guard. In my supersoil mix I unknowingly used promix with no amendments in it instead of a higher quality amended soil as my base. At the time of the deficiencies I had all the dry amendments I needed to stop the problem from even being a problem, only thing is I didn’t know how to use them. Yeah, I’d mixed 120 gallons of soil but there’s a difference in following a recipe and knowing how to properly use them. I was coming from rdwc and all my knowledge was water related with bottles, so I did what I knew best and took a two hour drive to my closest hydro shop and grabbed a bottle of biothrive bloom to finished out the grow.
This grow will be different. I could’ve just top dressed with fresh soil, but I’m using the dry amendments that I have. This White Runtz I one of three that I haven’t sexed yet.

*Scrog update
The Fish Bone Meal is working wonderfully and all the ladies are loving it! The purple in the stems and stalks are disappearing and it couldn’t be better timing because these ladies have to be flowered now!
I stopped tucking about a week or so ago and started letting everything grow up towards the 1ft mark. Flowering with 1ft tops will hopefully keep them close to 2ft and out of the light. Lights have been off for 9 hours so far, I’ll give them 22 hours of darkness and tomorrow night it’s showtime!

I also put together the second layer of trellis that I’ll be placing 8-10 inches above the ladies tomorrow for them to grow into and be supported. I’ll top dress my last veg feed with alfalfa meal and that should take them through stretch.
