This is my second attempt at keeping a journal. I’ve completed one full calendar year of growing with 4 harvests. Two were indoor, one was outdoor and the last was started outdoor and finished the last 4 weeks indoor due to seasons changing and them not getting enough light to finish in the sun and still, I can’t learn enough. In my four grows I’ve experienced my whole first crop herming and I have at least a lb of fem seeds as a result. Three of the seeds have been grown out already and more are getting ready to be flipped. I’ve ran into major PK deficiencies week three flower on my second grow as a result of improperly mixing my super soil recipe. My outdoor grow ran into PM and bud rot followed shortly after the vinegar wash. The outdoor/indoor grow caught a bad infestation of spider mites that I unknowingly brought inside when the seasons changed. I found them while checking trichomes when I saw something moving through the loupe. I watched them build a web over the next few weeks.
I’ve ran into my fair share of troubles on this expedition but one thing I did not do was give up. Each grow, 1-4 every problem that I encountered was eventually remedied and the grow was completed to its entirety, harvested, cured and enjoyed.
After sterilizing the grow rooms from the mites I am a couple of weeks away from flipping the survivors of the mites that were in veg at the time of the infestation and vegging new strains and clones from those about to be flowered.
While fighting the mite infestation I didn’t top or train the ladies because I didn’t want to add anymore stress than they were already experiencing and they grew too large vertically to flower out in flower room 2, so I built a scrog. This is my first scrog and I think I’m going at it correctly. We shall see.
