Just curious how everyone gets the alcohol evaporated to make RSO..do you use a hotplate or rice cooker..which is best and if I go with a hotplate could I use the pyrex dish right on the coils?

Rice cooker will burn out if you try to keep it too hot for too long as well.I like to use a glass bowl with tapering sides so that I end up with a small puddle, instead of having a large flat bottom covered in a thin skim. Anyway- that’s what’s stopped me from using the rice cooker.
I just put it in a bowl and put a desk fan blowing over it. Setup somewhere I don’t have to smell it. Evaporates within a few hours. If you have a heat pad or some other source of heat to put under it or next to it- that speeds things up a bit. But the fan works pretty fast.
Actually I guess it’s a slow cooker/crockpot I had in mind - not a rice cooker at all. Anyway I never used it - just looks harder to clean because of its shape.Rice cooker will burn out if you try to keep it too hot for too long as well.
I use a rice cooker to make my RSO. I just made a batch using Glookies strain, a 80 % Indica hybrid. Some awesome stuff it is.Just curious how everyone gets the alcohol evaporated to make RSO..do you use a hotplate or rice cooker..which is best and if I go with a hotplate could I use the pyrex dish right on the coils?
I use a crock pot till it’s evaporated down to 2 cups or so, then pour that into a Small bowel and put it in the coffee maker hot plate.Just curious how everyone gets the alcohol evaporated to make RSO..do you use a hotplate or rice cooker..which is best and if I go with a hotplate could I use the pyrex dish right on the coils?
wouldn't recommend pyrex on an ellement, just get something metal and put a little bit of water in it for heat transfer. i set up a small clip fan from my tent in front of the container and leave itI use a crock pot till it’s evaporated down to 2 cups or so, then pour that into a Small bowel and put it in the coffee maker hot plate.
