What's a Swempy?

Have you tried the taped-up pliers trick to soften the stem?
That's what I was planning.
What is the taped up pliers trick. 🍋
Wrapping the tips of a pair of needle nose pliers with electrical tape.
It cushions them a little so you're less likely to pinch right through the stem when you use them to supercrop.

Well shit.
And right above.

When I tried to snip some leaves to reveal the male flowers, they fell off.

So we're down to 2.

Mimosa
Mostly out of the line of fire.

Godzilla Glue #4
Right under the pollen dump. We'll see if she has been pollinated over the next few days, but there's no sign yet.

Have a good night everyone.

I switched them around after putting my backup inline fan in my smaller tent.
These two are a little tight in there, but I'm happy with the move.
There's still no sign of mass pollination. There are a few brown/orange stigmas in there, but they don't have that pollinated look to me. Only one of the buds directly under the pollen dump has a single brown stigma

Uggggh.

When da peen sneaks in to a lesbian orgy.
Lol! He's been kicked out and now they have a room to themselves!

I hope you got lucky Mel!

Welp, I have good news, and bad news.
The good news is, the flowering girls are smelling delicious, and I'm really looking forward to giving Mimosa a try.

The bad news is Godzilla Glue #4 definitely has seeds. Given the timing, they'll be mature by harvest.

There don't seem to be many though. I'll probably try one or two out in a winter grow, with a Glookies bagseed.

Here I'm patiently waiting for a pollen dump and you get yours by a freak hermie...it's just not fair. :)

Well caught and I you end up with sensimilla as planned!
Thanks Shed!
I just wish mine had been deliberate, like yours!
I hope you got lucky Mel!
Thanks Stone!
I've only seen 4 or 5 so far, so I'd say I'm pretty lucky given how much pollen there was!

They're still alive.
Mimosa was lightly pollinated after all.
I've counted 7 seeds so far. Not too bad, all things considered.
Their stigmas are starting to change due to age now.

And the good news is there aren't that many browning pistils!
True. There still aren't many yet.
That should change soon.

Ahh...yeah...
I meant to update this journal once or twice a week.
Looks like I missed a few.
They're doing better than I was expecting.

Mimosa
Medium density buds, too heavy for her stems to hold up. Her buds are greasy, rather than sticky, and smell like citrus rinds.

Godzilla Glue #4
These buds are fat, dense, and smell about equally like lemon and coffee.

I'm pleased with the quality so far.

The resulted seeds from the self pollination would or should all be female, is that right?

On my rock in the sea where all things 420 are illegal I'd be quite happy about that as regular seeds are a bit of a pain in having to grow them out to sex them.

I'm pleased with the look and the descriptions! :thumb:

If they came from nanners I would agree that they would likely be female if I grew them under low stress conditions, but these were actual male flowers, so I believe the Northern Lights was a genetic hermie. The lack of signs of stress on the other two also leads me to think that it's likely genetics.
I will pop a couple to test that in a winter grow though. One from the Gorilla Glue, and one from the Mimosa.
Depending on the timing I might be able to do it next winter, but it'll have to be a short veg, if it's even possible. I'm currently planning a sativa grow, although this outdoor season might change that plan.
I think an NL#5 x Mimosa sounds interesting, so I'll grow them out no matter what happens. If one or both hermie my hash bags will get a workout.
