3x Northern Lights Fem, Indoor & Outdoor Combo, BioBizz Soil

Day #17

Theyre growing so big fan leaves which actually seems to be a nuisance for air ventilation.. Air ventilation close to the stem root/soil is weak. A bit scared of the mold.

what you think should I already defolate couple lower leaves for better air ventilation? At least from Pheno #1? :D
Gotta lollipop them for the scrog anyway, but dunno if I should defolate that young plant yet? Opinions please! :)

Today did a bit more LST:ing again and the big fan leaves still keeps bothering me because they cover most of the lower grow tips.

heres Pheno #1

And after LST:ing

I'm not a big defoliator until later in a scrog and that would be to remove most of what's under the net not getting light and a few bigger leaves if they just get too much.

For the mold concern. At this age they want pretty high rh. The vpd chart gives us a safe rh in relation to temps during its lifecycle.

Useful chart for sure thank you!

today we kinda ran to the first problems.
Leaves were drooping and clawing down a bit. But it cannot be over watering because the soil were pretty much completely dry…
Tried to google that and most symptons refers to nitrogen toxicity:

and 2hrs after watering the drooping leaves started canoing up:

should I be worried or take actions? Or just let them sit and see if they get better? Thanks! :)

Day #20

Today decided to top two of the plants, because they didnt grow how I wanted.

the pheno #1 stays like it has been since it grows the other colas besides the top one :)
Trying to get them into a best possible shape before the tent and scrog net arrives.

30$ steamer were a sensible purchase. Im loving it and the plants seems loving the steam as well.
250w HPS produces that much heat so controlling humidity is so much easier now.
- TEMPS: 28-31C
- HUMIDITY: trying to keep an optimal ~55%

They are loving it!

what you think about 4l air pots as I consider to keeping them final pots?
Im aiming for around 40cm max height and spread them to the net for a 60x60cm area.
2x plants in 4l air pots and 1x in 6l. What u think is that root space enough to fill the whole 60x60cm surface?

I think it'll fill ok. You'll be watering every day maybe though. Just keep them fed and watered. Try to find other members who grows in small areas to ask also. I grow mostly in 7 and 10 gallon cloth pots. I have been trying out some small pots and have brought one or two one gallon potted plants to flower ok. It's living organic soil here so a little different. You should have a better time of it than me.

Yup gotta water the small pots every two days. But thing is Ive got told that the soil isnt actually dry even tho it would be completely dry even from the bottom. Got told the water stacks up to the bottom center of the container and thats why the leaves are drooping even tho the soil dry - but the soils actually too wet for roots to take proper drinks.

Idk if the explanation made any sense. @Emilya explained the water stacking thing here in this thread I made: Drooping leaves - Cant be over watering

Anyway for now they look pretty happy again. And they didnt really give two fugs about topping :D

Yeah that topping thing doesn't make them flinch if they're healthy.

Emilya understands things to the core and I try to gleen what I can from her. I have to catch up on the stacking. Is a little top water involved with keeping them nicely wet?
Top watering wasnt involved until now. When ever the couple first cm feels dry then just gonna wet the surface to make first 2-5cm wet/moist. Trying to proceed with this next couple days and after that give them a bigger amouth.
think this going to be my dillema until the end with those pots and hot HPS drying the top soil... so just gotta master that as well :)

Day #21 - Pheno #1 showed the sex & early pre-flowering white pistils :snowboating:

Day #23

Pheno #1 pushing new colas with nice little white pistils on top of them.

40x60 closet getting way too small for them o_O the tent should arrive in any minute (hopefully today or tomorrow…)
After the tent and scrog net arrives Im bout to flip them into 12/12 and take advantage of the flowering strech when tucking them into scrog

Also see below the last two images. (Lower leaves yellowing, and yellow/brown spots on them) Could that be a defiency or can it be a leaf septoria? See source: Yellow Leaf Spot (Leaf Septoria) & Cannabis - Get Rid of It Quickly!

That last pic has some leaves looking like calcium/magnesium could help to me. Spots for calcium and the light ribbing between leaf veins for mag.. Or if it's only in one or two leaves and not the rest of the plant then no worries just keep your eye on it.
If you just flipped she may be calling for phosphorus P, so keep her fed may be all. Keep watching that it isn't spreading up.

Day #24 - Bloom stage
Switched to 12/12 light cycle

Today the tent and scrog arrived, finally! Now as everythings redy for the real strech I decided to flip them into flowering! :woohoo:

- placed the scrog already and right now just using it to bend down the highest colas.
-> Going to lift up the net around 20cm above the plants and when the lower colas start streching. Actual scrogging starts when the lower colas hits the net.

- Steamer keeps nice 45-55% humidify inside the tent.
- 250w HPS distance to the plants: 40cm (pretty close, but maximaizing the light effiency, since the clip fan keeps the temps between 28-29C at the tip of the plants.)
- duct fan with air ventilation pipe (taking the intake air from outside)
-> Hoping to get +-10C differences on night and day time temps to get some reddish/purple shades on the leaves :adore:

Yup tried to google that and 9/10 symptoms telling its cal/mag defiency.. sadly dont have biobizz cal-mag now so had to improvise: biobizz Top max includes calcium and magnesium so mixed top max for a bit in already :D

Day #25

swear the god they grew like +3cm during the night o_O
Hopefully the strech is enough to fill the whole 60x60cm net (2x2)
- going to defolate/lollipop the lower growth as soon as enough colas hits the net -> This is the time when going to take the clones.
