Welcome to 420 Magazine's Nug of the Month Contest!

Please submit a photo of your best nug. (There is a separate contest thread for plants)

The nug must be your own, either purchased or grown. Optionally, we'd love to hear about the strain, taste, aroma, potency, effect, weight or any other frosty details that you're willing to share.

The contest will be open for submissions from the 1st until the 14th at midnight PST. At one minute past midnight on the 15th, we will begin voting for a winner.

All winners receive "Nug of the Month" title and the following Prize Package:

420 Magazine: 420 Magazine Lighter, 420 Magazine Magnet, 420 Magazine Stickers
Foods Alive: Organic Toasted Hemp Seeds
Sierra Natural Science: SNS-217 Spider Mite Control - 1 Quart Mix Pouch
Mile High Cleaner: Deluxe Cleaning Kit (Members can only win this prize once per year)

Shipping fees may apply to some packages shipped outside of the U.S.
You are responsible for any additional fees applied by customs.
Additional Details On Prize Shipping & Customs Duties

Monthly winners are automatically eligible for our prestigious "Nug of the Year" contest in January.

Contest Guidelines:

1. The contest is open to members with 50 or more posts. Members must also have at least 50 posts to be entitled to vote.

2. Contest entries must be original photos of your own nug(s), rather recent and not previously entered in a Nug of the Month contest. The same photo cannot be entered into more than one contest in the same month. Winning entries cannot be entered into any future contests. The nug photo may include several nugs or a cola. This nug may be grown by yourself or purchased at a legal medical dispensary.

3. Entries must include ONLY photos of the nug. But you may add one photo as a reference point for size or a closeup/macro

4. Maximum of two photos per member. Both photos must be of the same strain or batch of nugs. Updating photos throughout the month is not allowed.

5. Remember to upload your photo through our Photo Gallery before posting it on this thread: Photo Gallery Guide - How to Resize, Upload & Post Photos

6. Nugs must be dry and ready to smoke or vaporize. Any nug that appears to be too moist to smoke or vaporize will be deemed an invalid entry. No "wet" nugs please.

There are many reasons how and why a photograph can be misleading. A nug might be really dry, but the way it was shot with some light reflection gives the illusion of being wet.

History shows when we've confronted people in the past, we've had a 50% chance of them admitting the mistake and 50% chance of them telling us to go screw ourselves for calling them liars. Sometimes they get nasty and offended and leave the site altogether. It's such a sensitive subject and like playing Russian roulette.

Of course sometimes people make honest mistakes, so we always take that into account. It's just a sticky situation that we get hated on from all angles, so weed REALLY appreciate the help in sharing some of that load with us.

Ultimately the decision is up to us, however weed love for you all to work together as a community to help us keep things fair and not always rely on us to catch them. So, if you all can help us peacefully monitor these wet nug entries, we feel there is a better chance of the contestant being more accepting of the decision without any of the unnecessary drama and workload that usually follows. All we ask is that you be kind, respectful and compassionate with calling them out. Please do not insult, mimick or tear anyone down for making a mistake.

7. Self-nominations only. Past winners are ineligible for 3 months from date of win.

8. Competition is open to the first 25 entries.

9. Promotion (i.e. campaigning) for yourself or a friend, or any attempt at voting more than one time per person (i.e. multiple user names, etc.) is considered cheating and is prohibited. Promotion also includes family and friends who register a new account for voting purposes. Campaigning in any form - including but not limited to mentioning the entry in any thread outside the contest, a signature link to the entry and campaigning via PMs - will result in the entry being removed from the month's contest. A second instance, either in a different contest during the same month or in any future contest, will attract a lifetime ban from all future contests. General encouragement to vote in all the contests is fine, as long as it's not excessive or crossing the line into campaigning. Any post which explicitly or implicitly encourages members to vote for a specific entry is not.

10. Editing Photos: You may resize and/or crop your photos, however adding text, images and effects are prohibited. This makes it a fair contest for all, as not everyone can afford photo editing programs and/or know how to use the them. Photos must be cropped properly, leaving no large empty spaces at top/bottom or left/right of the image.

11. Staff members from this or any other cannabis forum/community and/or 420 Magazine sponsors are not permitted to enter our contests. It's okay for staff to post photos in the contest for fun, however to retain the credibility of the contest, their photos will not be added to the voting polls.

If anyone has any questions or problems with ANY of the entries in ANY of our contests, please speak up publicly in the respective contest thread, before the end of the contest or forever hold your peace. Once a winner is announced, that will be the end of discussion, there will be no take backs, unless we made a clerical error.

By posting a submission into this contest, it is assumed that you have read and agree to abide by each of the aforementioned rules. Consider your submission your "virtual signature".

Contests Are Legitimate: Now that votes are publicly visible, it should be obvious who is voting. We have endless ways of discovering cheating and are always successful. If you are caught cheating, your entry will be deleted and you'll be called out in the public thread, visible to everyone. Reason being that in the past, when we removed the offending entry without any announcement (to help minimize embarrassment for the member), it often led to uninformed (or worse, misinformed) members questioning our motives and calling us censorship nazi's. More often than not, the cheater themselves would claim innocence, causing a higher workload for our staff. For these reasons, we now alert the community of what happened, to save all the confusion and massive workload on our team.

:goodluck: Good Luck Everyone! :goodluck:

Ok first.

This was purchased, a full ounce nug for 300 Thai Baht ($8.54USD) which is extortionate! From a Reggae/Rasta bar near the beach but a proper old school Sea Gypsy owned in Rawai, Phuket Thailand.

Its labelled as:
Thai Sticks,
Hang Kra Rog
Phu Phan
(Sativa)

Only English so def for tourists. Probably free for Thai people 😅

In Thai Hang Kra Rog is หางกระรอก or Squirrels Tail - cause it looks like one. Thai weed since I was a kid was always block pressed, pre legalisation it was the same - so this name distinguishes it from that.

Phan is likely the name of the lady that farmed it.

Behold proper old school landrace Thai (really Laos) sativa. Revel in the promise of the seeds nestled within. This is a nug so old school, banning it wasn’t even a thing. It was just found in nature. This was literally the pot at the end of the hippy trail rainbow from way back when. Original. Smokes good too. Mild sativa boost. About to try it through a bong. Seems only right.

It’s always cool when someone takes the time to actually tell us something about their entry. Nice.

Here is my kings x plus stanky Berry mix

Did you roll those buds during cure?
I only ask because I do that sometimes with a few buds, chuck them at the back of the cupboard, then leave them for 12 months or more - the result is always top shelf

Tell u the truth never heard of rolling them but you could say I did. Cause I put them inside a baggie and squeezed all the air out of it. Then stored it for few weeks till I was ready to smoke it.. but these nugs are med hard nugs. But most I grow is hard hard nugs anyway. I don't like lose buds.

I'm trimming after drying my friend.
:passitleft:
Are you drying them on the stalks in the pots to? That's almost too hard to believe but who am I to judge? People are going to complain so I'm giving you the heads up! Cheers!

Seems that you are the only person to inadvertently complain ATM. And why? Perhaps it's because the image appears to be of higher quality than the norm. But only you would know the reason, so I'll refrain from assuming I know the reason.

It's more like this...The entire plant cut at the base, and hung until dry.

Any other presumptions that I may need to address for you today my friend?
