619ster's First Grow: Pure Royal Kush July 2010

wow those babies shot right up nice work. makes me wanna try a hydro set up. I think the one by the wall is catching the reflecting light and that is why it got bigger.

Yeah they did just take off on me. Could be the wall, but I did kinda notice the difference from the beginning. And the funny thing is that I believe it was the smaller one that sprouted first.

Those are some very nice looking plants. Mine are still under a foot tall after about 2 or 3 weeks, but they've grown a lot in the last couple days.

Yup that's around the same time mine just started growing like crazy. Now I know, if you want to keep plants small, do not vegg for more than 3 weeks

OK so quick update. My tent is up and I just received my GLH LED lamp. The Spectra 180. I would go bigger if I could afford it but thats 180 watts of really good light for my plants As opposed to only getting 140 watts with only one or two spectrums from the cfl's. Like I said I will still veg with cfl, but now I have my flower power I will probably still have a few cfl's in the tent for supplemental side lighting. Just gotta see how this first grow goes and all will fall into place. Oh and heres a pic of one of my fan leaves I hacked off when dropping a lamp on my plant. Sure wanted to keep that one on there. Oh well, it happens

Well I'm really Syked about getting my led lamp!! So I've decided to try n sprout a couple more beans. I'm going to do a couple strains. I've been keeping alot of seeds I come across and have a nice collection. I have a choice between more pure royal kush, afgoo x trainwreck, g13 x haze, GDP x bubba k, or diamond kush (if I can find it). Then I have a bunch more unknowns I'll experiment with later (no schwag). I'll have fun trying to figure out what they are Any suggestions?

Man you are going to love your GLH light. Mike did a grow with his 180W and his plant did great.

Haha yea! I just had a good bit of that stuff and it's sum comatose inducing stuff allright! That's where I got my seeds from. Quality stuff for it 2 have seeds. But good for me I think I will do a few of those thanks!

OK. Well my day just started with a slight tragedy. I just seen confirmation of my plants being male And they were just so pretty and smelly! No biggie though. The fun has just started! That was my warm up May try to keep some pollen for future experimentation. And with my new light being here now, its really time to grow some dank. I will be getting clones next week. Also, I've got 6 seeds germinating now. 3-Pure Royal Kush (I must see how this strain comes out) and 3-Afgoo x Trainwreck. I have some Afwreck buds now I will post a pic of for people to get an idea of what is going to grow. I have had Pure Kush, and I've had Royal Kush, but I have never had or even seen Pure Kush crossed with Royal Kush or even heard of anybody who has (not even the breeder has grown this yet). I got these seeds from a botanist enthusiast who likes to grow, breed, and play with mj and grows some of the best stuff I have ever seen. So keep tuned in for updates! More pics to come

If you grow it out to collect pollen remember to give the room a good scrubbing before placing any other plants in there. least you pollinate your future females by mistake!

aww bummer man. you did good withem though. As a suggestion if you dint have room to sprout alot of seeds you can go 12/12 till they sex then revert back to 24/0 or 16/8 and veg till u are ready to flower. with the males you can make butter or cookem into some olive oil. so they aren't completely use less. ill keep a look out for your next grow.

Tell me about it lol. I don't have these in my tent (never made the transfer once I seen sacks) so no risk of contamination. But thanks for the warning Chrome. I definately wouldn't want that.

Nice suggestion with the butter I hadn't thought of that. Next grow is coming real soon and already under way. And spAce is no longer an issue. At least I hope not. Maybe lighting might me an issue, but I wanna see what these LEDs can really do with a bit of added cfl juices

Yea its cool. I have 6 new sprouts as we speak. And those males will be used for sure so definately not wasting anything.

yea what can i say... but now i know what i have learned is definately enough to get some good crops going.

As far as this thread goes.... ITS FAR FROM OVER. I guess technically i am still on my first grow, just a continuation of it But please believe I have learned a great deal just from this experience and everything leading up to this. And the fun has jus started for me as now I have a BETTER grow space setup, a BETTER light for my flowering, and BETTER knowledge and experience. Thanks to all who have followed along and provided feedback and tips, and thanks to 420 mag cuz this site ROCKS

But please stay tuned in for more updates because I have a feeling things are going to pick up real soon and start moving quite fast.

Also, still more pics and nug porn to come while we wait on these sprouts to break out of their domains and while I get these clones in from my favorite dispensary. Big things yall BIG THINGS!

Ok quick update on my preogress. So tent is grow ready (except ventilation, intake, exhaust etc...) with GLH Spectra 180 ready to go. Seedlings cracked shell and I have 4 in rockwool and 2 in cups with soil. Will transfer the soil ones to hydro when ready. So here Are some pics of random things for the time being:

I cant believe the prices you all have down there, dispensary and street prices are $$$$$. We don't have dispensary here yet... its on this coming ballot thu. Prices have not changed here for like 15 years, when I moved to Nor. Cali for school I was shocked at $60 8th's and that was 1999.

Your male plant is a nice size. The 2 males I had to pull where strong growers, its always the good ones that get away.

I went thru but maybe I missed it... whats the size of your tent?
