Hey everyone! As a new member of the medical MJ community, I joined this forum with the intentions of learning more about MJ and to possibly grow my own medicine. I have been lurking around here for about a month, and I have learned a TON. I have never regularly smoked MJ, but after dealing with some health concerns, I received a medical recommendation from my doctor. Since then, I have started smoking and have had great results so far. I decided to research growing my own and I got pretty intrigued. I went a little crazy with my supply ordering. I have a large space to grow, and I decided to order some extra lights so I could get a discount.
Blueberry and White Queen. Two each.
Hybrids, moslty indica. BB is 12.801% THC, WQ between 20-25% THC
Seeds dropped in water 10/21
Indoor
Hydro - DWC 5 gallon buckets.
PlatinumLED P600 lights, x3
8" 350CFM exhaust fan with carbon filter
Bluelab garden monitor, etc.
Nutrient lineup:
Hygrozyme
Calimagic
Hydroguard
PH up and down
Cloning gel
Root Exelurator
Aquaflakes A&B
I dropped the seeds into water on 10/21. The White Queens opened up and showed a tap root after less than 24 hours. I transferred the seeds into rockwool and put them on the counter in a bowl covered with saran wrap. I transferred the seedlings into the buckets yesterday. The Blueberry still hasn't come up yet, but I put them in the net pots anyways. I might have to start over with the blueberry but I don't really know what I'm doing yet, plus I got some free seeds with my order.
I used tap water (I'm on a well), and it measures to 200PPM from the tap. I mixed my nutrients in a big 28 gallon tub and adjusted the PH to 5.8, then filled the buckets. I went really light on the nutrients, but made sure to add the appropriate amount of hydroguard. I'm measuring 400ppm (200 over the tap water) as of right now. Hopefully this isn't too strong for the seedlings
Anyways, after some time and effort getting my growing area set up, I have everything in place. Today I went and checked on it, and noticed the roots on the WQ's are brown, coated with slime, and the water is cloudy and stinks. I'm not sure what I missed, but I'm not surprised to run into problems, since this is my first attempt. I added 5ml per bucket of hydroguard, so we will see what happens. I have a feeling I will have to start over, but I will listen to advice and go from there. I covered the net pots with some reflective insulation, to make sure the light stays out after adding the hydroguard. My big tub doesn't stink at all. It still has a few gallons left in it, so I'm thinking light might be the problem (the big tub is not getting any light into it).
Anyways, here are some pictures of the operation. Any advice is welcome!
