Bell syphon

hello new to the platform and I was curious if anyone else is using a bell syphon to control their flood and drain system ?
I've attached a picture and a video for those not familiar with bell syphons ,no moving parts at all .

Could be better, used old clay balls from shed and I could have cleaned them a bit better, but it'll do OG Kush I think it is .

I definitely haven't seen anything like that. What does it do? Or how does it work? Mine is all run by pumps.
