Has anyone tried Clone to Flower CTF?

Clone and then Veg for a week then flip to flower?

Sounds like this will work fine but looking for people who have tried it.

Hey Ron :ciao: hope your doing well my friend.
I've done something similar but I built a root ball really quickly.
I think that's key.
Check my thread Gorilla Glue topped after 10 days.
It was the clone room feeding my 2 flower rooms.
I had a harvest every 4 weeks.
So 20 clones a month sometimes.
I can answer any questions you might have.
Take care.

This is the 2 flower rooms.;)

Right on Bill I checked out your pictures and this is what I’m looking to do!!

What size pots are you using and after you transfer to the final pot who long till you flip 12/12

I've flowered in every from 3 gal to 7 gal.
I run coco and find 3 too small.
She drains them too fast.
5 to 7 are my preference.
Also gives me more room for roots.
I've flipped anywhere from 7 to 30 days.
It depends on your clone size, I cut great big branches for a quick veg.
Or 30 days to get more size and roots.
As long as you have some healthy roots you can experiment with both 1 week - 4 weeks.
But if you want a rule of thumb 30 days is plenty to fill a pot and get her ready for flower.
You need a few moms to do it perpetually.
Do you have mom's?

Hey now Bill....Will Cloned sprouts from a flowering plant (Godfather OG Fem), after rooting, go veg and then flower normal.? Thanks

Yes if you have roots give them 24 hrs light.
They will throw funky looking leaves then revert to veg.
If you reflower her she will be a monster.
Throwing buds in all directions. :thumb:
Takes a couple weeks but it's fun.

What’s the furthest into flower cutting you’ve ever taken? At what point do you think it would be too late to cut?

I take cuttings up until stretch is finished.
Maby a few days past but that's as far as I usually go.
Strip pistils and light her up 24hrs.
I'm not sure past that point of the viability of a cutting.
I'm not 100% sure there is an actual point which it won't come back.
But that's the latest I usually go.
Do you have a flowering lady your thinking of saving?

depends large of a cutting you take, and how good your cloning technique / conditions.

the later in flower the larger the cut will need to be. some folk have taken them as late as 2wks from harvest. i could never do that. at some point it's best to monster crop over clone and keep the original plant to reveg.

Nothing in particular, just useful information to have. Some times I don’t want a clone until I see her flower then I’m disappointed I didn’t take it in veg

Sheesh, that seems like it would be real difficult to work with. Being an annual plant and all, at a certain point she’s used up more than she’s got left.

I haven’t grown out a single strain enough times to identify the phenos I like before flower yet so it’s hard to pick a mother just based off veg growth. I’m currently working my way through Blue Thai so I can find a pheno I like and establish a mother to cut from.

popular method is taking them 2wks past flip. it's common flower defol practice.

at that point they should be just showing themselves or slightly before. generally, the loudest plants at that time are gonna be your keepers. :)

That's how I got a couple of my moms.
You get a 6 pack of seeds but sometimes there's only one you really like.
But you don't realize until they flower out.
Different Phenos.
Like those 2 giant Apple Betty's I had in the greenhouse.
The one at the back was a 1000 Toonie sized nugs.
Her sister beside her, same seed package was giant colas.
Huge, brutal to trim though.
I'd love a clone of the more sativa leaning one.
Gives me the giggles and a breeze to trim.
But I have a few pounds to keep me happy. ;)

Jeez tell your plants to go home, they’re drunk.

Good information to have in my pocket, thank you gents.

I am rooting (I hope), from the last trimming when there already were small flowers on the bush.
