First Grow CFL Noob Grower

So day 37 of flowering and for some reason my lstd plant leaves' are drooping again.... I dont get it the soil is still moist a few inches down, but yet just like last time the leaves are drooping like shes dying for water. Last time I just watered her and she perked right up, but I dont want to over water since this would be her 3rd watering when really she should just be getting her second...

She gets the same amount as the tall gal, but the tall one has no problems with the water schedule. which is about 1 1/2-2 cups of water every 4-5 days depending on soil check.

humidity is 25-33% with light on and 40-45 lights off

any other info needed just let me know.

is it too late in the process to replant her? i could move her up to a 3gal bucket from the current 2 gal, allowing for more water right?

heya Denot!!

your 40x loupe should be more than enough to get good views of your ladies trichs! i use a simple 20x and get good views.. dam im not sure what your issue could be with your ladies drooping like that- it SEEMS simply a water issue but like you say- your soil is still moist a few inches down so *hmmmms*

Well she was just thirsty... I think I used too much Spagnum moss and that is what I feel once I get deep down.... I guess its not too big of a problem, after all compared to the amount of water I hear some people using 6-7 times the amount I water on the same size pots. I guess ill be able to tell more when I inspect the roots in a few weeks..

I did drill 5-6 holes in the sides mid ways down the pots to allow airflow incase its staying too wet...

I also have charcoal in my soil for help with drainage. I gave the lady 2 cups instead of 1 1/2 and she was perky in two hours leaves where standing higher then ive ever seen.

Dont know why my loupe sucks.... maybe I do... maybe its the big MADE IN CHINA right on the cover...... gonna buy a microscope this time I think... shaky hands tend to not help either.

So Im going to have to up my watering.. watered friday and shes begging for more already...

I got some kind of burn starting, dont know weather its heat stress or a possible nute burn? I have given nutes in over a week, and even then it wasnt a great deal I have only given nutes a handful of times as it is. Any one have any ideas? I also added cfls to the mid sections, which kinda made me think heat stress, because regardless of what any one says these cfls I have put out just as much heat as my buddys 400w hps.

Its on both the bigger plants.

I added a new fan to help hold the temps between 80-82, and watered them again. I feel like I am over watering but I guess its because I dont give them excessive amounts I normally just water untill i can see water running out and stop, then drain the water from the catch tray. Should i be leaving the water in the catch tray below?

Hey guys, just got done checking out the girls. Im not sure if its because I bought a cheap one or What but its pretty hard to see my trichs With a 40x loupe. Is that. Strong enough?
They look to be almost all cloudy now and about 40% hairs are ambered on the lst'd plant, I took a small Sample nug off just to see what its like. I hung it up on a ornament hanger In my grow and will just wait till she seems smokable. Maybe 2-3 more weeks... her flowers arent very big ill be lucky to yeild a half oz dry weight I think.

The tall gal still will be a while I believe, shes only got about 5% amber hairs and the trichs still appear clear. But flowers are starting to fill and cola is swelling. Im guessing 4-5 more weeks

Guess I need to get a more expensive loupe any suggestions?

Good morning deno, I can't see through the loupe well either, I take photos, zoom in, and I can examine things at my leisure, my hands shake, my eyes aren't what they have been, and you can zoom in pretty close with a reasonable amount of clarity....I use a 16 mp camera! ( just for reference ) Your burn almost looks like it's from contact with something foreign, like your nutrient solution got splashed on those leaves. Most often, my plants will show nutrient burn on all the fingers of the leaf, and I noticed you have burnt ones right next to healthy ones. My nutrient solution, AND my diy co2 generator juice...LOL...have given me identical burns when splashed or dripped on the leaves. I refer to these as mechanical burns. You can place a thermometer at the point of the burn and conclude the heat burn theory. I have thermometer/hygrometers at what I perceive to be the hottest place in all my boxes, and monitor them closely.

One is brand new only 2 days old.. I cleaned the one fan I had in there yesterday. Its was a lil dirty but not super dirty.

I saw you say something about the fans dust bunnies causing problems, so I went ahead and cleaned. But out of curiosity what problems can they cause?

I will tell you my theory; in my case we smoke in the immediate vicinity of the boxes, I believe that the dust picks up the smoke particles, is deposited on the fan blades and blown on the plants. The plants are sensitive to the nicotine and it can cause spotting on the leaves. This is just my theory and I'm too busy to research it atm....LOL. Since I started using that cheapy ionizer the dust factor has been 0, ten bucks at the flea market!

The one dirty fan was blowing air in a oppisite direction of the plants. but interesting theory on the nicotine I wonder if tar from meds will affect ldaves in same way?

I will check for more damage in a hour when lights switch on, should I just remove the damaged areas?

I don't remove many leaves, until I think they are more of a liability to the plant than an asset!

Ok im gonna trim just the dead parts off since they have dried up.

No new signs of burning so thats a good thing just gonna keep an eye on them.

I cant believe the swelling on crystal(biggest plant), her cola has grown close to 30% in past 3-4 days lower nodes are also close to growing into the main cola. (will post more pics after the mlb game)

Starting work on my new room this weekend, but I figured Id share my plans for "The bathroom growroom" 2nd grow journal.
planning on building this in half of my garage as a bathroom addition with and false door into the two room grow. These pics should pretty much show everything. There will only be one door going into the veg room instead of the two drawn. And the door in between the split rooms will be a sliding door that will slid into the wall for a much better light seal. Ill also be adding a half bath as that will be the reason for building the addition to friends and family. And the "empty space" will be space for my "future" furnace.. that way it doesnt draw too much attention.

Been looking into getting a hid setup prob 400 watt.... Ive found 2 hps on craigslist for a decent price but used for llike a year and used always worries me. Then again the two air cooled hoods are worth 2x what hes asking for everything... I did however find a 400 hps/mh dimmable setup with plain reflector for same price.. If any one with hps/mh experience has any suggestions Itd be appreciated greatly. The reason I wanna go with 400w btw is because I plan on having 2 400w setups eventually with one mh and on hps, and I dont wanna go over 1000w an hour for stealth reasons.

So kinda shopping around but hoping to get something in the next couple of days...

No more burns have shown up on either plant, so not sure if ill ever know exactly what caused It. The only change I made was adding another fan to just circulate the air in the room, Which dropped the temps 3°f...

So i got two 400w hps today for 100 bucks with air cooled reflectors. So heres my noob ? Which bulb is better phillips or iwaski? One has philllips the other is iwaski, both hoods and ballast are htg supply.

Also is there anything special I Need to know about hps lights? I know about how hot they get and about not touvhing the bulbs with your hands, But anything else?

Will put pics up in a few.

LOL...noob......you know more than you know you know....LOL....GET NEW BULBS! If you get new bulbs you will KNOW that they are good, and you will eliminate any thought out of your mind that they're not as strong as they should be....IMHO. If ya touch one by accident you can clean the trace oils off with alcohol. BTW....I think you made a good purchase if everything works, even if you do replace the bulbs!

I honestly dont see much improvement in the amount of light, my cfls seemed to be brighter. But hopefully a new bulb will make it brighter. I guess it is much more of a red color though

Moved one of my 150w cfls over to the clones, Id love to add more lights but scares me to add the watts.

Yes i should be able to afford an induction setup once i wont have to pay 600$ A month on meds, which i cant wait too happen, after this harvest is done the money saved is going to go right back into better supplies and equipment.

The new hps setup still can believe I got it for that much... air hood cost 80 each around here so I think I got a steal. Really tempted to put both of them up.

Im so happy with the hps I feel like a idiot thinking cfls were the way to go cheaply.... ended up spending more of cfls and supplies then i paid for the 2 hps.

But going to work on the new addition, ive tottally change it up to having a 6x7 room with a 3x2 closet with a shelf mid way to double th square feet.. I figure I can veg with my monster cfls for 3-4 weeks then they will slide out into the flower room for the remainder of thier lifes.... Just thinking as I was typing, and a mother plant from one of the two seeds my sativa has growing on the top shelf just vegging for a few months and clones can fit in the lower area.. Of course I made sure to have enough area for my cloner to easily fit inside...
