First Indoor Grow - Soil & DWC Bucket - Super Silver Haze - Jack Herer - Bag Seed

After the flush yesterday Twisty [bag seed] is starting to swell up and green up! cheers! :passitleft:

Got a 120X microscope that clips on to my phone. I prolly should of gotten an 80 or 60X...120X is pretty close and hard to get a good focus...it's a super cheap 15$ one that has led lights but no focus, so you have to be the focus, plus your phone can help you a little bit with finer macro. Anywho on the way to the shots:

Tiny is nothing but clear

20160727_191123.jpg

Twisty is probably 75/85 clear 25/15 cloudy, at best.

20160727_191228.jpg

And finally, the JH..probably the same as twisty 85/15 clear/cloudy. Here are 3 different levels of the plant:

Bottom

I'll say 4/5 weeks, probably closer to 5. I'll want mostly cloudy/amber...cheers! :passitleft:

[also they aren't duplicates of each other. since focus is so sensitive the slightest flicker gives you a different look]

I'll take good news as it comes, and I found out the JH clone is female...hopefully she'll stay that way and not herm like it's mother/father.

I also raised the roof [literally] in the veg cab about another foot. the SSH is growing good now, and hopefully she won't herm either...

Friday was week 9 of flower for the DWC and Greenhouse states a 8 week grow time...that's not gunna happen here. probably another 4/5 weeks as she's still more clear than cloudy...covered in trichs none the less but they still need time.

Tiny has very tiny buds..I feel like the name suits this plant very well. She's still probably 80 clear and she looks frostier than the other bag seed. She's 100% ready for the hash bag :thumb: :passitleft:

Here's twisty. Filling in nicely and getting close to 50/50. Most places I looked on her it was a pretty even sight.

Here's the cola of the JH. The tippy top either got burnt accidentally one time while doing maintenance or is bleached from being so close to the light.

In the video done by Greenhouse they say the JH tends to get very resinous and heavy, and a style of holding the branches up is almost a necessity unless you want them to snap. I have a pic or 2 showing how low the branches can get. I try to fold/weave the leaves to hold each other up, with assist of plant wire too!

From the looks of the girls over the past week, a harvest of sorts isn't far from the future..I think I made my mind up when I finally saw how large of a plant I'm dealing with, I'd want to do a partial harvest on it and let the lower growth catch up [an extra week or so]...with that being said, I think the partial will happen within the next 2-3 weeks not 4-5. 4-5 weeks will be when the plant is no longer living and completely drying. As far as the bag seeds go, I believe twisty will be done close to that 2-3 week mark as well, but tiny may take a bit longer, since that's what she's done her whole life...

Most of the trichomes, starting in the beginning of last week, were mainly clear and a very little cloudy. That was the case even up on the top of the cola. Today, about 1 week later the trichomes are starting to fill in with lovely THC and turning nice and cloudy, like a nice thick icicle. Here are some pics from the JH and Twisty, they're almost at 50/50!

This is the albino part of the cola top. It looks cool under the scope, but it also looks to be lacking trichomes/lengthy, thick, healthy looking ones.

Well today marks Week 11 for the big girl. I'm starting to see amber already on some of the larger nugs. it's crazy how nugs from equally level branches are still different sizes and are in different stages then the one that may be right next to it. For example, here are 2 of the much more "done", they show about 75% cloudy 5 amber and maybe 20 clear...

20160804_214909.jpg

20160804_214753.jpg

20160804_214756.jpg

20160804_215142.jpg

Those nugs are frostier than most and have about 75% of pistils turning red. Most other nugs are at best 50/50 red/white pistils, even the top cola is mainly more white then red...I really want to do partial harvest but the more I think about actually doing it the more I'm a bit lost...how would I go about flushing for a partial harvest? the same way you would a normal flush, just go back to a slightly lesser feeding schedule after? Honestly I could see myself cutting some branches this weekend, no later than next weekend.

I don't even look at the pistils as I notice some strains don't even color up until after harvest. The Tric's are far dirty...You could do a short 2-3 day flush and then start up nutes again...Or just even shorter or no flush and you will probably just have to cure longer. Flushing is debatable as are most things. But I do it on all my plants unless a catastrophe happens.

I think I've made my mind up on chopping down the 13th, next Saturday. Trichomes don't lie and it looks like most of them are all cloudy on all 3 of the plants. I've been only using distilled water for the past 2 weeks on Twisty [250ppm] and Tiny [150ppm] their ppms were both very low the last watering. I'll give them a real nice wet last week in hopes to bring it down to as low as possible. That also means I'll start a flush on the JH this weekend when I do the res change. It'll get a good 1 soild week of flush. I know some say 2 weeks, some say DWC only needs 2-5 days, I'll make up my own guesstimate and flow with it lol. I'll probably do pics over the weekend, KiG and stay medicated :passitleft:

EDIT: my previous post I said it was at 11 weeks, when I really meant 10. So not too far off the Greenhouse recommendation of if it's not done by 9 weeks give it 1 or 2 more. :thumb:

So the exact date of chop like stated will be the 13th. I did a bucket change today and just put 3.75gals of distilled water...nothing added. It will get a total of 5 days of flush and 2 days of darkness...3 of those 5 days will be with lights on and 2 will be lights off. I figured what the heck, why not try the darkness if it supposedly makes them more frosty, fine by me, not much loss I don't believe..anyways on to the pics

Here's Twisty, getting more amber added by the day.

The flower gang...

20160807_155412.jpg

Can't believe this pooch is coming down so soon...I'd say for a first run DWC it wasn't half bad. The technaflora recipe for sucess just about lasted the whole grow. I ran out of Sugar Daddy 2 bucket changes ago, I figured it wasn't worth rebuying since I was so close to done. If I would have followed the recipe to the T I would of been out of many more things much quicker. I never really went above 1/2 strength the whole grow. I'm also very close to running out of calmg and boost, but overall the kit was well worth the money spent. The Root 66 bottle in there is worth 40$ itself and the kit usually runs around 45 50$, so it's a steal for the first time grower.

Tiny is doing exactly what a plant should do durring flush, start turning Yellow.

Twisty is still green with a slight fade starting. The last flush ppm runoff was 200ppm. I'd say that's pretty good even if I can't get it down much more. Both twisty and tiny are going to be straight hash plants. I might save the cola from twisty being it's actualy somewhat decent sized, but there going to be made into delicious dry ice hash. :passitleft:

JH is lookin beautiful and sagging more and more each day, which is a good thing. She's definately looking like some prime medication. I can't wait to try a sample from her beautiful blossoms. Anywho, this is the last day of any light for the girls. At 11pm tonight lights go off for 2 days and then I go chop, chop, chop :passitleft: can't wait to see the results, I'll have quite a bit of popcorn from the JH but that's fine by me, more buds for RSO, edibles, BHO, Hash, or ANYTHING!!! I'm almost more excited for the science afterwards lol. I'll have some update/pics maybe later tonight, but if not on Saturday/Sunday I will have ano update! Cheers and stay medicated! :passitleft:

So Twisty, Tiny, and the Jack Herer all came down last night...it took 3 people, 7 hours to cut, trim, wash, hang the big Bertha of a JH. I'm left over with quite a bit of bud, I can't wait to try it out after a quick cure....I didn't get a wet weight, I was super beat by the time it would of been time to weight. I started at 11pm didn't sleep and finished around 8......

I first took off all large fan leaves and put them in paper bags, then trimmed all the branches off the main stem, tied the string to it, washed them with 3 buckets [1 cup lemon/baking soda - water - water] and then hung them and that's where we're at folks....keep cool and medicated in this crazy @$$ heat :passitleft:

P.S. I still have the SSH, 2x SSH clones, 1 JH clone left in veg, soon to be put in the tent and flowered shortly after...:thumb:

20160813_121349.jpg

I trimmed 100% of the largest fans off the main stalk and about 85% of the smaller fans on the other limbs. I left it for 2 reasons, 1 so it could get washed and 2 those smaller fans have plenty of trichs on them, so they're going straight to the hash bag, along with a good 30% or so of the buds that are tiny and airy.

I wanted to have cleaned buds/leaves for hash since I'll be using larger screens at the end of the hash making, and I won't want any dust or dead bugs lol :thumb: I'm expecting still a bit of work but that's fine by me. I'm sure trimming before is 90% easier, cause then it's trim off the limb into a jar, but I wanted to try to leave as many trichs on as possible, which are also included in the leaves...:passitleft:

Good stuff!

I just hated how long it took and it was so much more tedious clipping the sugar leaves after they had curles around the buds....

So I've been lacking updating my veg side of life with so much "action" going on the flower side. The SSH has definately hit a boom and she's telling me she's ready to flower too...Once I topped her when she was young, the undergrowth literally took over and the 2 [what should of been] tops are now very tiny, lacking light, almost non existent and the 2 lower branches took over as the new tops.

Out of the 2 SSH clones 1 is doing much better than the other. The smaller one is barely bigger then from when she was transplanted...The JH clone is showing preflowers and will probably be flowered when SSH goes in as well.

Now onto the JH. [I didn't take pics of Tiny/Twisty yet.]

Overall I think [hope] I'll be left with a good product. One way to find out! :passitleft: cheers!

So 75% of stems on Twisty and Tiny snapped or were close to snapping so they got trimmed up and put in jars. obviously most went to hash, but what larger nugs were left over I kept. here's the totals and some shots of the nugs! :passitleft:

Here's what I started with before this trim session. It's what I call "The Devil", joint of Kief put into the carb of a [laregely] packed bowl. When smoking, the smoke that comes off the joint and bowl, looks like horns of the devil. I was really stoned when I came up with this...obviously..anywho to the pictures!

There ya have it for the Bag Seed! they'll spend a good 2 weeks in the jar and then get smoked in about 3 days lol....1/8th out of a 1 gallon pot....free money $$ :thumb: :passitleft: :passitleft:

So for the total weight, I was disappointed with the results, I persoanlly figured I would get more but hey, it is what it is. I ended up with 57.4G of good flower from the Jack Herer and 46.2G of hash cut buds and trimmings.

In total for Tiny ,Twisty and the JH, ALL plant product [flower/trimmings/popcorn] equaled 116.7G for an end weight of 4.1 Oz. I still have the SSH and 2 of her clones and a JH clone about to go into full flower mode. they're at 14/10 right now for 2 more days then 12/12.

Here's the final product of the JH...Most nugs are "airy" and also very hairy lol. But they do look nice, and their feel is going to get there soon...as for scent, still a strong knock of hay but it's starting to turn into the good skunk scent I know it has. if you pinch the bud a little bit and smell it you can smell it's nice skunk roots, but in a refreshing clean smelling way. I'll post pics very shortly! :passitleft:
