Gorilla Kush & Organic White Widow Bean Grow!

Heya All!

The next run is underway. I'll be focussing on 2 giant Gorilla Kush plants with 2 of my own organic White Widow beans produced from one of my previous grows, to test if they both come out feminised.

The WW beans popped in 48 hours, i picked the best 2 out of several and the GK tails are just popping out so ill plant them tomorrow.

Im using a 70/30 coco perlite mix with trichaderma and silica with its first water being a mild dose of Canna Rhizotonic and Organic Chilli and Garlic spray to kill off any initial pests.

The fish tanks full in the bathroom, I'll take germination and veg slow and steady and once established transplant direct into 7 gal fabric pots and throw them under the new LEDs.

Cleaned out the mini veg tent for the girls and planted the GK beans!

Well the beans have popped! The WW is 2 days ahead in germination compared to the Gorilla Kush. Feeding 100ml water per seedling as needed.

Reset the 5x9 with a nice clean of the grow room and plugged in 2 of the LED strips running at 20% power. Growth is looking great though the girls are in for a few hot days so i have to baby them. Im thinking of doing the GKs in 15 gal fabric pots instead of the usual 7 to increase flower production and to veg them out 2 months. I've also started the 4 sprouts on a half dose of Bio Diesel with an EC of 0.3 and a pH of 6.2.

Let's see how they fair!

Well the 15 gallon fabric pots arrived and their bloody giant so we should double the yield on the Gorilla Kush and grow some giant flowers. Filled both pots to the max and I'll do a primary watering with a mix of chilli/garlic anti-insect solution. Just waiting on supplies to calibrate my pH metre and the seedlings to root another week or so.

Both GK's are looking great. One of the WW's are stretching so ill most likely keep the other for my test to see if it feminised.

I'm just wondering now how long to veg in these 15gal pots??? Suggestions?

So a heatwave hit pushing 37°C and I've moved the baby girls into the loungeroom to regulate temps properly. Binned the stretchy White Widow, the other 2 GKs and WW are doing fine. A low and slow grow well underway!

Day 14 from germination. A few better close up pics of the babies. Starting to slowly show their second set of baby leaves...

I also just moved the 15 gal pots into the grow tent onto a flood tray and pre-treated them with 20 litres of Neem Oil and my Organic Garlic and Chilli anti bug spray. Should knock out any potential fungus gnat infestations and has upped the tents RH to 80%!

So I stopped procrastinating and got my arse into gear today fitting the new 8" air intake in the loungeroom in line with the aircon. The 6m line of ducting is now running directly into the tent and its actually pulling air in whereas before the line was maybe twice as long and 6" for half of it. I should see awesome improvements in temps amd rh now!

So I thought it was just the LED lights though on closer inspection the babies are looking very light. I killed the second white widow as it was showing deficiencies and flushed the 2 GKs with Rhizotonic at a pH of 6.2. I dare say my pH metre has been playing up. It's stuck on a calibration cycle every five minutes and doesnt auto turn off anymore though is still giving accurate readings between gremlins. I'll rinse and repeat a rhizo flush every day until they start showing signs of bouncing back. Poor lil girls have had pH block out for atleast a week!

Well bad news! I've temporarily switched of the grow room. After an initial flush, the GK seedlings weren't looking the best so instead of wasting my time bringing them back from death, I culled them both and tossed the 2 other Gorilla Kush beans I had in the stash into H20. One of the seedlings did have decent rhizo growth, however they were both very crispy and on the verge of dying. I tried!

I'll be using coco plugs this time in an incubator to keep their humidity levels up and monitor rhizo growth during germination, then once established transplant directly into the 15 gals so the tap roots can drop which should make for a faster grow. To my knowledge the tap root is ready to drop after 5 days.

Faulty pH meter fail! New pH and ec pens arriving this week, I was using the Bluelab combo metre which has served me well for 6 years now with alot of neglect, so I'm trying their pen range this time around and keeping their maintenance up!

Sorry to hear about the other ladies. Im sure these will pull through. I almost lost some also so I know your pain. :passitleft:

Well tye new beans sprouted and i put them in coco plugs into an incubator this time and turned the tent back on. The new Bluelab pH and ec pens arrived and are calibrated perfectly. I sprinkled a light mist of Great White powder combined with a Rhizotonic solution spray with a pH dead on 6.3...

Everythings back on track. Transplanted all the beans into thier final containers (may upgrade the white widows). One of the GKs is yet to pop, it was attempting to defy gravity so i had to pull apart the plug and turn it the right side up. She had a very strong yet confused tap root. Watered with the usual Rhizotonic nutes at a ph of 6.2-6.3. Temps are hot today though with the new ventilation configuration, i can crank up the aircon and get the tents temps and rh under control!

The GK#2 bean died so I've germinated a Critical Kush bean to replace it. It will be 10 days or so behind the other babies though I'll be veging for 8 weeks minimum so it will have plenty of time to catch up. I'll also do a full round of Gorilla Kush clones to keep tye genetics going and make some seeds from the best phenotype!

The rh is not a problem when the humidifier is running. Top up once a day. It was actually the Rhizotonic mix ive been using. I've switched to week 1 routine of Bio Diesel line and what i forgot I was missing was calmag! The Critical Kush bean has popped and is looking green. Watered with a quater dose of nutes. WW#1 is growing strong through WW#2 is suffering with burns thoigh the second leaves popped out overnight, within 24 hours of the nute swap it bounced back. GK#1 is looking sad so im flushing it extra everyday until she pops to life, perks up and turn green again!
