You may have waited a touch too long to flip to flower.
But that's not your question.
I'm not a big proponent of defol so I may give a different answer here.
But I'd flip your garden to flower before it gets any bigger.
Anything under her skirt below the light line will be larf, wasted energy usually.
Before I flip I do a light clean out under the skirt.
Then around day 21 of flower I do the same again.
Under the light line, it's up to you how much.
Have a look at @Costanza 's journal.
He cleans out everything.
So you decide your level, I use larf and trim for concentrates so I don't mind a little extra.
Go somewhere in between where you feel comfortable.
But your tent will double in size when you flip, keep that in mind.
