No, but I have a (true) instant read thermometer that I can use to adjust the temp until it's correct.. Probably let it sit on the steel block for a few minutes to get them both warmed up.

I love your ingenuity. I think it will work somewhat, but your biggest problem will be putting enough pressure to the task. Even with a hair straightener I used a hand clamp. I’m very interested to see how it goes though. If we lived close I’d bring over some smashing weed...for science.
I'll try it again once I have some cured bud that I grew. This crap I got from a local dispensary is dry AF. I tried it a few months ago, and although it worked the rosin quantity was disappointing. Whether it's the method or the bud, who knows? Most likely a combo of both.
PS a caged dabpress and then a 20 ton press on sale for 120 bucks will solve it all for you for pretty cheap and has zero maintenance cost so it just pays for itself the more you squish.
