Is LED better for veg than T5 or HPS?

Hello all!

Iv only ever grown with cfl/hps for veg and im growing organically this year, so my main goal is to eventually use the LED for late flower but im wondering is it possible to use LED for veg, HPS for the first 4 weeks of flower then back to LED to finish them off with?

My seedlings are a week old and under a 4 bar 2ft T5 light at the moment, but iv been told veg is a little faster when using LED and you get can achieve better veg density, is this true?

I will be keeping them under the T5's till around the 3rd week then i can either swap to the LED or 250w MH/HPS bulb if people have compared themselves that will be perfect.

I've had great luck with them all
Started my 1st grow seedlings under T5
Then they went under MH, flower to HPS

Then I just used t5 for awhile in veg

Then went the LED rout

Now I use just QBs

All worked well, but the led was better than t5, and QBs better than them all. Didn't use the MH enough to test that, and all I did under HPS was flower

45 days in veg under 170w of LED Full spectrum light...

seems to work just fine in veg and I am comparing growth to be better than what I got under 400w MH or 550w of T5 purple light. I am sold... LED IMHO is much better.

I think im going to take a go at LED at week 3 then, is there anything i should be adding, heard cal mag is a key ingredient for LED growers?

calmag is a key component for cannabis growers... not just LED
