LED build question

So I've put together a couple of Samsung F series LED strips.
I've read that they should be wired with single core 20awg wire.
Can anybody in the know tell me why they need the single core 20awg?
It seems very thin and I'm worried it may overheat.

Those show 1.2-2.? Amps. I would not use 20. I would go to 14 to be safe.

standard size for led app is generally 18awg solid core.

i've used this for all my builds. most common wago connectors work with this size as well.

Take that 20awg as a minimum. Personally, I'd use 18awg stranded wire, and tin the ends. I like the flexibility.

This is sage advice.

Wire guage is about heat and resistance. The longer the wire the thicker it usually needs to be.

For 110-120 Vac - 18awg stranded good up to say 6 amps.
