Well when I got my soil I made sure not to get nutes(got it at a small garden store)... I added about 10% mg organic soil just to give it a just a lil...

Day 9 Flower
Group 1 now has shown sex in all 3... 2 Female 1 male... Not too shabby
Group 2 n 3 still no signs

I got a question... Does anyone know how long a 12/12 from seed would take to
show sex? Ima look through the forums but figured it'd be a good topic in here

Hi legal, from what I've read it takes 2-3 weeks to show sex from seed.

You can always flush the soil out. THe way to do this is to flush with 3x's the amount of water that there is soil. So for instance if the plants are in a 1 gallon pot then flush with 3 gallons of p.h'd water. Or if you have a e.c or a tds meter flush with ph'd water til the ppm's read 0. just a thought for your soil situation

Day 13 Flower
time for some pics...kinda been slackin

plants are doing well...i started LST on GROUP 1 and transplanted them to bigger pots
..also they are starting to show tiny itty bitty buds..soo excited..

group 2..still no signs of sex after 13 days flower...cant wait to see the sex cuz i space is gettin cramped and i wanna pull out the males

well u were right Mmmmick lol but only slightly...lol...
only 1 plant of the smaller 2 groups has shown sex and it was male...it was definately harder to tell bc it is still so small of a plant...blew my F*ckin mind bc its from group 3 and group 2 has not shown anything Still..

so now just playing more of the waitin game on the rest

Group 1 is exploding with hairs

Group 2 now only has one plant left bc i discovered one to be male

Group 3 has no change

Gave the girls from group 1 some veg nutes today bc they seem N deficient. I think next grow I'll do what someone else did on there thread ( feed veg nutes for first 3 weeks of flowering) I don't remember who's thread tho.

Just start off low then work your way up. If you feed them full strength veg nute their going to burn, or show signs of burnung that will look like a deficency. Just something to ponder. I definetly suggest 1/4 - 1/3 strength folowering nutes then work your way up from there.

You mentioned back a ways that you wished you had a soil mix with no nutes. you might want to try coco coir. Hydroponic results but you can hand water in containers just like soil. There are some differences in technique but it's super easy.

Hi legal, I do that as I think the plants need the veg nutes during the stretch. Botanicare splits their Pure Blend into half veg half flower nutes for the transition phase. Good idea to help things out with a little extra N during that growth spurt imo.

Butcher-
I fed them full strenght as I did not think it would hurt too bad. FF Grow big is 6-4-4 and FF Tiger Bloom is 2-8-4 so I didn't think it would burn

i know what you mean. The way it goes is that w/ the adjustment in nute levels if you feed them full your n-p-k levels are going to be out the roof.you should flush then start low and bring it up. That way your at a clean slate.

Well it's been a whole day and the burn is minimal.

Bad news... 2 more turned out male. That only leaves zero plants from group 2 and one from group 3

soo from now on group 1 will be called group A
and group 3 will be Group B

I'm really hoping the last one turns out female or I'll have wasted a lot of time. Next time I will def. Buy fem seeds

I've been lookin into the hempy bucket idea and I have questions fRom some people with experience. Am I supposed to use special hydro nutes for it? Or could I use the fox farm stuff I got?

Also do the roots grow down all into the water at the bottom?

And how does a New seedling suspended in the perlite/verm mix above the water at the bottom get enough water to support the plant growth when u only water it once a day ? Does the medium mix hold some water? Or is the couple of seconds Im watering it enough time for the plant to suck up some water on it's way down?

hey legal, forget the product, I was trying to point out that it's accepted practise by some nute suppliers to carry the veg nutes into the transition phase. ie: higher N during the first couple of weeks of flower, instead of switching immediately to your flower formula.

Sorry to hear about the males. That sucks most of the time, but I wish I would have saved the male from the same batch as my current plant. Hindsight's a bitch.

I love looking at these hydro grow set ups, wish I had the room and capital, but then the conditions have to be perfect 24/7. My hats off to those that do it successfully. Best of luck to you if you give it a try!
