Lighting Question

Hopefully someone will answer this for me. I have been doing some searching on Ebay for lights, seen a few within my budget but wondering if they would work considering the size of my closet...Or what would you suggest....My closet is 2 feet by 4 1/2 feet...

If not enough alone, can cfls be added with?

A 175 watt yeilds enougth light to grow a 2 x 2 foot garden well.

A 250 watt will illuminate up to a 3x3 foot area

A 400 watt or 600 watt delivers plenty of light to illuminate a 4 x 4 foot area well.

Yes, you can mix light sources.

I use a 400W HPS in my 2x4 grow cabinet.
I also add CFLs to supplement and fill.

My current grow has about two or three weeks left until harvest.
It's being lit by the HPS and three 68W 2700K CFLs and one 105W 5000K CFL.

Remember, more light means more heat so design your exhaust system accordingly.

Um, what ya mean get the tube? I think I did find a 400w set up on Ebay but I forget how much.

That LED in the ebay listing is junk. Don't waster your money on it.

Thanks Bassman....think I am gonna leave LED's alone, not really in my budget. Just wanted to upgrade to something a little better than CFLs.

I'd go with the 400w HPS. I've got a 3x3 space and I use a 400 and it works really well.
