ok, so since the last post I have watered once, 3.5-4 Liters of distilled water, no nutrients/fertilizer. The photos are from 36 hours ago. I have begun germinating two more seeds. an Auto Moby Dick by Dinafem and a Sour Amnesia by Natural Seed Bank (freebie).
Yea, I am pleased with the genetics on these Auto Flowers. As mentioned earlier this is the Green House Seeds Northern Lights Auto. I think this is a great strain for beginners as it grows quite easily, tolerated the electricity issues during the plants "vegetative" stage, has tolerated the fertilisation issues I had put the plants through and produced quality buds under a single 95 true watts rated LED, which around 1/3 the way through received a CFL of 60 true watts then again in the final third of lifecycle a second 60 watt CFL, both in "cool" spectrum. I also think this would be a great plant for someone who is doing more "commercial" production. I'm sure someone who has their setup dialed in and proper lighting/wattage could get some serious yields off this strain. Especially considering that this strain is advertised as having average heights around 3-4 feet. Consider that this plant you have just saw in my most recently posted photo is only about 1.5 feet.
I have seen a lot of negative reviews and comments related to Green House Seeds and their strains. I Haven't anything negative to say about the strain and i think the description given by them of this strain is pretty accurate in terms of what I have seen growing and now smoking bud I have grown. The only discrepancy would be that these plants were considerably shorter than the as advertised height. Has any of the people reading this have any opinions of their own, based on personal experience, about Green House Seeds? Among other reasons, a large height indica auto flower was what I was looking when I was selecting a strain to plant. Height is not a huge issue for me and the grow space I have available. My reasoning behind that being that a larger plant to begin with gives you a greater chance to get a larger yield.
Here are some current, close up Bud shots. Can anyone see the trichomes well enough on these photos to tell me if they are seeing clear, cloudy or amber...?.?.? I watered plant again today, another 4-5 Liters, purposefully trying to create runoff and flush. I didn't flush the first plant and this plant will be flushed. we'll see if I discern any difference. The 2 seeds I germinated are planted in 10 Liter pots, using the same soil mix as this grow cycle. Both sprouted on Tuesday Sep 5th.
So this grow is officially over. On the 2nd plant i got those 2 jars and another half jar which is not in the photo and is made up of the smallest and/or least dense buds. I will use it to smoke while;e these 2 jars cure properly. I would say, in general that the 2nd plant seems to be more potent than the elder/first plant. although there were some specific buds on the first plant that were most definitely top quality, the majority was not. I assume its several variables that affected the quality including my drying and curing, the stress and LST techniques and just general ignorance and learning curve from being my first indoor grow.
I now have 2 new plants going, they are at about two weeks. The Moby Dick auto from dinafem is really small for 2 weeks in. its got 4 leaves, not including cotyledons, and it has slumped over. maybe i didn't pack the soil well enough, or at all i think. IDK. The freebie i had gotten which is Sour Amnesia seems to be doing much better.
Can we get this journal officially moved into the finished Grow journal section?
Thanks everyone for following along and your advice and support.
