Photoperiod Question - mid to late flowering

Has anyone heard of increasing the dark/light period to 13/11 or 14/10 during the last 2-3 weeks of flowering? Supposedly, it mimics the shortening days of autumn and the plant responds by increasing resin production to better support the expected seeds. Thanks all....

It's part of a growing number of people using "decreasing light schedule". It is commonly used to help strains finish faster, particularly sativas because of their proximity to the equator, these strains my not respond as well to a classic 12/12. So some start at 12/12 and decrease light as the plant progresses through flower.

Thanks for the reply! It does make some sense. Do you have any idea as to whether there is any scientific/experimental basis for this?

I do know that flowering 11/13 light dark accelerates flowering at the cost of yield. People go even further than that. I haven't done anything beyond 11.5/12.5 which is my standard.
