Doctor Trevor's Dark Angel Journal: Taija & Stacy

Today, I fed Taija and Stacy 3 teaspoons of Big Bloom, 2 teaspoons of Grow Big, 2 teaspoons of Tiger Bloom and 1/4 teaspoon of CalMagExtra, dissolved in a gallon of water. I also adjusted the pH on this water, bringing it down closer to 6.5 (it was about 6.8).

Taija seems to have had a growth spurt in the last week. She noticeably taller than she was last week but she's still two or three weeks behind Stacy in the flowering department. Stacy seems to be budding from everywhere.

I've shut off the veg light, leaving only the bloom light on (for eight hours a day).

Today, I fed the girls three teaspoons of Big Bloom, 2 teaspoons of Grow Big, 2 teaspoons of Tiger Bloom and 1/4 teaspoon of CalMag Xtra, dissolved in a gallon of water.

Taija is catching up to Stacy in regards to size the number of colas forming. She is also showing a few trichomes (Stacy has a lot more of them).

On Thursday (9/3/20), I installed a 600W Phlizon light in my tent. It's attached tandomly to my 600W Giixer light.

On Friday, I flushed both plants. I used 2 teaspoons of Sledgehammer in a gallon of water for each plant. I finished the flush with 9 gallons of tap water for Stacy (in a three gallon pot) and 15 gallons for Taija.

Both plants were fed three teaspoons of Big Bloom, two two teaspoons of Tiger Bloom, and a quarter teaspoon of CalMagExtra, dissolved in a gallon of water.

I've raised the temperature in the tent from (on average) 66 degrees to 70 degrees. I read, somewhere, that the plants should grow in the mid sixties, but I can't find that source and everything I've read states that seventy degrees is better.

Trichomes are coming in nicely. Just waiting for the buds now...

Today, both plants were fed three teaspoons of Big Bloom, two two teaspoons of Tiger Bloom. Taija was given a quarter teaspoon of CalMagExtra. Stacy was given a half teaspoon of CME; she has had those burn marks on a few of her leaves. This is apparently a common problem with the Dark Angel strain. The nutrients for each plant was dissolved in a gallon of water and given to the plants.

Taija has had a growth spurt in the last two weeks. She's much bigger than Stacy, both in height as well as the number of colas I'm seeing. Stacy, on the other hand, has stalled. While her colas are coming out, she doesn't appear to have grown any taller or wider in the past week or two. I've slightly lowered the pH of her food this week; we'll see if this has any affected

Stacy is leaning to one side... a lot. I'm using shishkabob skewers to keep her standing upright.

Stacy was given a half teaspoon of CME; she has had those burn marks on a few of her leaves, a common problem with the Dark Angel strain. Both plants received a quarter teaspoon of Cha-Ching as well as chemicals to gently drop their pH (it's been pushing 6.8-7.0). The nutrients for each plant was dissolved in a gallon of water and given to the plants.

Stacy has a few yellowing leaves, two or three; I'm not concerned. Taija does not have any.

The buds are growing nicely. Trichomes are plentiful, yet still clear.

Today I tested the pH of the soil. It's very high for Stacy but just fine for Taija; odd as I feed them the same diet.

Based on a recommendation, I have started a second weekly watering of the girl. Taija and Stacy each received a gallon of water.

Stacy, in a three gallon pot reached saturation point after a quart was added. Run off. I continued with the watering to help flush out whatever gave the soil a high pH.

Taija, in a five gallon cloth pot, didn't start a run off until until I added my third quart.

Both plants are a bit droopy. Mostly Stacy.

Today, both plants were fed three teaspoons of Big Bloom, two teaspoons of Tiger Bloom. A quarter teaspoon of CalMagExtra and a quarter teaspoon of Cha-Ching.

I tested the pH of the nute solution I had been giving them. It was close to five. I added a little General Hydroponics PH UP, given the solution a pH of about 6.25

While Taija is beginning to droop a little, Stacy's main stalk is listing to the side. Her branches are very droopy and many of her leaves are yellow if not brown. One branch is so weak that the bud rests on the floor in her tent.

The buds are growing nicely. Trichomes are growing milky.

Today, I watered both girls with a gallon a water (no nutes). Stacy had run off at the half gallon mark. Taija had run off at just under a gallon.

Stacy still looks sick, but she's still alive.

Today, both plants were fed three teaspoons of Big Bloom, two teaspoons of Tiger Bloom. A quarter teaspoon of CalMagExtra and a quarter teaspoon of Cha-Ching.

I tested the pH of the nute solution I had been giving them. According to my liquid pH meter, the pH of the nute solution is 6.4.

Taija is blooming and booming. Stacy... not so much. Most of her leaves are yellow, though her branches seem to be firming up a little.

This past Thursday, I flushed and fed the girls.

I started with 2 teaspoons of Sledgehammer in a gallon of water for each of the girls. And followed it up with a ten gallon flush for Stacy and fifteen gallons for Taija (the latter is in a larger pot.

After this, they were fed three teaspoons of Big Bloom, two teaspoons of Tiger Bloom. A quarter teaspoon of CalMagExtra and a quarter teaspoon of Cha-Ching.

I tested the pH of everything I poured into the plants, adjusting their pH so it was between 6.2 and 6.4.

Tonight, I watered the girls. No nutes. The water's pH had to be altered which brought me to an interesting discovery. The bottled water that I use always has a different pH. The water I used tonight, prior to pH adjustments was 7.6; last week's water was 8.1.

Stacy is still holding on, though she has very few palm leaves left. Her buds haven't grown much in recent weeks and, now, her trichomes are milky. I doubt I'll get half an ounce of bud from her. She's not drinking much water; run off started after giving her less than half a gallon (she's in a three gallon cloth pot). I'm trimming off the brown and yellow leaves as they are not helping her at this point.

Taija is still growing. Her branches now are beginning to droop. Someone said it's because her buds are weighing her down. I think it might be from overwatering. She did not produce any runoff until I gave her a full gallon of water (she's in a five gallon pot). Trichomes are milky. I trimmed some of her palm leaves from underneath.

Yesterday, I fed Taija three teaspoons of Big Bloom, two teaspoons of Tiger Bloom, a quarter teaspoon of CalMagExtra and a quarter teaspoon of Cha-Ching. All dissolved in a gallon of water. I adjusted the nute solution's pH so it was 6.3.

I expect to harvest in a week. The trichomes are getting milky.

I disposed of Stacy. She had been barely holding on for the last three weeks. Her buds were virtually none existent.

Yesterday, Taija received a gallon of pH adjusted water. She was drooping, but I think it's because she was dry; I watered her a few days later than I should've.

Her trichomes are milky. I will harvest this weekend, probably try bud washing.

I harvested Taija on Monday. I haven't weighed what I got from her but will when she's dried out, but I know it's more than I got from Vanessa and Siobhan combined.

Thank you, everyone, for your help.
