Doctor Trevor's Dark Angel Journal: Velma & Daphne

Tonight, I fed Velma.

I prepared six quarts of nute solution using the following:

1.5 tablespoons of Big Bloom;
3 teaspoons of Tiger Bloom;
3 tablespoons of Terpinator;
3/8 teaspoon of CalMag Xtra;
3/8 teaspoon of Cha-Ching
some GH pH Down to bring the pH down to about 6.20.

Runoff began about the four quart mark.

Last night, I watered Velma. She took four quarts of pH adjusted water before there was run off.

Tonight, I watered Daphne. She took five quarts before I noticed the run off.

I'll post some pics when I feed them in a few days.

Tonight, I fed Daphne.

I prepared six quarts of nute solution using the following:

1.5 tablespoons of Big Bloom;
3 teaspoons of Tiger Bloom;
3 tablespoons of Terpinator;
3/8 teaspoon of CalMag Xtra;
1/4 teaspoon of Cha-Ching
some GH pH Down to bring the pH down to about 6.20.

Runoff began at the 4 quart mark.

If these two follow the same schedule as my last two, then I'm two weeks away from harvesting. Not sure if the photos agree with me.

Last night, I watered Velma. Velma received six quarts of pH-adjusted water. I noticed run-off after four quarts. Tonight, I watered Daphne, giving her only five quarts of pH adjusted water. Run off began about the four quart mark.

I chose to give Daphne less water (despite being in a larger pot) as I was thinking that, maybe, I'm giving her too much water. The bottom of her five gallon pot could've felt a little drier.

I know it's crazy to experiment only a few weeks from harvest, but it seemed like the right thing to do.

I watered Velma tonight. She was very light. Her leaves were drooping.

I noticed runoff after only three quarts. I'm guessing that the problem is there is very little soil left on her pot at this stage (she's in a three gallon cloth pot).

Tomorrow, I'm changing her watering/feeding schedule from three days to two.

Tonight, I fed Velma.

I prepared six quarts of nute solution using the following:

1.5 tablespoons of Big Bloom;
3 teaspoons of Tiger Bloom;
3 tablespoons of Terpinator;
3/8 teaspoon of CalMag Xtra;
1/4 teaspoon of Cha-Ching
some GH pH Down to bring the pH down to about 6.20.

Runoff began at the 2.5-3 quart mark.

I had planned to water Daphne, but her pot was still wet. I'll try again tomorrow.

Here's some pics of Velma:

Tonight, I watered Daphne. I was supposed to feed her but I mixed things up with Velma. Sue me.

I gave her six quarts of pH-adjusted water. I didn't notice any run off until I was four quarts in.

Tonight I watered Velma, using four quarts of PH adjusted water. I noticed runoff after two quarts.

As I am watering/feeding her every day, I will cut the water back to only four quarts.

Tonight, I prepared a gallon of nute solution for both Velma and Daphne, using the following nutes (in each gallon):

1 tablespoons of Big Bloom;
2 teaspoons of Tiger Bloom;
2 tablespoons of Terpinator;
.5 teaspoons of Cha-Ching;
.25 teaspoon of Sensei Cal Mag;
some GH pH Down to bring the pH down to about 6.20.

Velma showed run off after two quarts; I stopped feeding her after three.

Daphne showed runoff after three quarts. I fed her a total of four.

I'm surprised the two haven't fully blossomed yet. They seem have stalled. I'm assuming that the cold winter slowed things down. The room their tent is in has gotten cold on a few occasions. I'm keeping a space heater near the tent with the intention of keeping it about 75 until harvest.

I'm also of the thought that I am overwatering them.

And now some pics of Daphne:

Tonight, I watered Velma. I noticed runoff after two quarts and stopped after three quarts. Definitely under the impression that I'm overwatering the girls.

Tonight, I prepared a gallon of nute solution for Velma and Daphne, using the following nutes:
1 tablespoons of Big Bloom;
2 teaspoons of Tiger Bloom;
2 tablespoons of Terpinator;
some GH pH Down to bring the pH down to about 6.20.

I stopped using Cha-Ching as I probably started feeding it to the girls way too soon. I also stopped with the Sensei Calmag; I don't think it's needed anymore.

The runoff began at the three quart mark.

I watered Daphne. Four quarts of pH adjusted water. Run started about the 3.5 quart mark.

Daphne concerns me as it looks like she's stalling. She hasn't grown or budded in the last two week. I blame it on the cold temperatures they were experiencing in the last few weeks (low to mid-sixties). I think it's also because I overwatered her in recent weeks, not giving the soil enough time to dry out.

Here are some pics of Daphne:

Tonight, I watered Velma and fed Daphne.

For Velma, I prepared a gallon of pH treated water. She drank three quarts of it before I noticed run-off.

I fed Velma the following, mixed in a gallon of water:
1 tablespoons of Big Bloom;
2 teaspoons of Tiger Bloom;
2 tablespoons of Terpinator;

Cutting back on the water seems to have helped. The girls are blooming more than they have in the past few weeks. The warmer weather probably also contributed to this.
