PlanetaryHerb's Soil Grow 2.0 - Mystery Seeds - T5's - 600W HPS - Perpetual

Re: PlanetaryHerb's Soil Grow 2.0 - (Mystery Seeds, T5's, 600W HPS, Perpetual)

Ok I managed to get everything set up and moved three plants into the flower tent. They received 12 hours of darkness last night so today is day 1 of 12/12 :). The plants were pretty easy to transplant, the root mass was pretty solid and it just took a minute wiggle it out of the fabric smart pot. And they are under a 600W HPS right now.

All the plants are 7 weeks from seed right now but still no signs of preflowers on any of them. If any of the plants turn out to be male in the flower tent I will be replacing them with others from the veg tent immediately. I decided to let all of the most recently topped plants veg for a little longer to let the new tops grow out a bit more as I had originally planned on putting those into flower first. The seedlings are looking good, and I planted 2 more seeds today.

The plants in the flower tent will get their first dose of bloom nutes as soon as they are ready for their next watering.

That's all I can think of for now.

It appears you may be able to lower your light. place your hand underneath the light bulb and move your hand to the point you can not feel any heat from the light bulb and position your light above your plants canopy to that level, raise the light as your plants grow.

here are some chart with lumens and distance from the bulbs, they do not account for heat.

Thanks for the info KingJohnC! Help as always! However the angle of the picture makes it look like the light is higher than it is. It's only about 2 feet above the tops. It could probably be a little closer but I don't want to push it with as hot as it's been here lately.

Hey Planetary ... you alive man? I hope you and your loved ones are okay after the flooding.

Congrats on the second tent.

I am really envious of how efficient your grow is. Every space of your veg tent is evenly covered. It looks really pro.

Are the new seedlings that you popped the same strain as the stuff already going?

Thanks Hijinks!

I'm indeed alive but my time lately has been consumed by work and school. There's been lots of rain where I'm at but no flooding fortunately. I hope you guys are starting to recover from all the damage that was done. I've only seen pictures and can't believe how much damage was caused by the floods. I'm sure it's much worse in person.

Anyway I'm back for a moment to finally update my journal. And to answer your question, no the seedlings I have growing right now are all random picked from a collection of probably around 50 seeds.

:peace:

Alright first things first, I'm sorry about my short absent from my journal. I've been really busy with school and work and such. A lot has happened since my last post and I'm finally here to share :).

Alright let's get started. As chance would have it, I ended up with 5 males and 5 females. The males were all chopped down and thrown out a little over a week ago. 2 of them being plants I had started on 12/12. I replaced them with two females from the veg tent that had shown preflowers by then.

After about a week the last two plants in the veg tent were showing signs of stress and where starting to droop and discolor. I knew right away it was because they were outgrowing their pots. They would be bone dry the very next day after watering, so I decided to go ahead and transplant them into their bigger pots and put them into flower and they complete recovered color and all :). So now I have 5 plants in the flower tent all within a week and a half of each other and they are looking great.

After all the heartbreak of chopping down the 5 beautiful male plants I dedicated so much time to I really didn't feel like going through it all again. So I ordered 6 feminized seeds.

- Barneys Farm - Critical Kush
- Barneys Farm - Vanilla Kush
- Dutch Passion - Blueberry
- Reserva Privada - Kosher Kush

Freebies

- Dinafem - White Widow
- Dinafem - DinaChem

They should be here tomorrow or Friday :).

I have also decided to slow down my perpetual grow because my initial plans were demanding to much from my set up. The plan now is to just veg 5-6 plants out, put them into flower, then start another 5-6. This way I will be harvest more, but only every 2-2.5 months instead of every 2-3 weeks like I had planned.

That is really all I can think of for now, so on to the pics...

It's hard to see, but this is the only picture of a male I have unfortunately.

Hi Planet, glad your back again with an update. The girls look great, and you got some very nice seed strains on the way.
Good luck with the rest of flower.

Hey man- sorry I've been MIA from following your journal for a while. Like yourself I've been pretty busy lately.

Glad to see that all of your plants are looking healthy! (Sorry to hear about the 5 you had to cut down)

Those seeds you ordered look like a good combo. I have a tangerine dream from Barney's farm that's doing really well right now, plus their prices are really reasonable.

Glad to hear your place was dry.

Hey all. I hope everyone is enjoying their hump day :)

I'm finally getting around to another update. It's been about two weeks since my last update. I will be reordering seeds in a month or so and will start them once the second round of plants goes into the flower tent. This time I will be ordering from the single seed center from which I bought the seeds for my last grow and twice before that without a single issue and with great customer service. I really don't know why I went with attitude this last time. The flower tent is really starting to pick up. Today is day 29 of 12/12 for the first plant I put in flower. I honestly can't remember exactly how far the others are behind but they are looking good. Lots of trichs starting to form :), I'm already really impressed with how these bag seed plants are looking and wreaking! Boy do they stink already! I also tried some extreme defoliation on the plants vegging about a week ago and I'm liking the results.

That's all I can think of for now. Not sure if there are too many still following this journal as I have been a little absent lately, but let me know what you think.

Flowering plants are looking amazing Planet!! All the plants look really good, and nice defol. Wow, you striped them bare, but they bounced right back and look really healthy again, +reps for the defol method.
I gave it a shot in my grow also and found it really slowed them down in the flower phase, but they are all healthy and growing nice nugs like yours. I'm looking to harvest around 10 weeks instead of 8.

Sucks about your seeds and the money your out, wasn't very bright of the mail room boy to write "habberdashery" as the contents for sure. Freaking stoners, so hard to find good help these days. :)

Nice work on the grow, my friend.:thumb:

I love how much passion you put into your grows. I took look at your first grow and that was just amazing! I can't wait to see how great this grow will turn out :).

Keep up the great work PlanetaryHerb!

Thanks stealth! The defoliation really stunted the plants growth for a few days, but after they recovered they really picked back up in growth. I've been keeping up with your grow and the buds are looking dense and frosty over there :bravo:. Those cabinets look like they are definitely going to be a good investment. I can't wait to see the final results!

Thanks mox! And :welcome:! I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one turns out myself. These are some of the healthiest plants I have grown to date.

The flower tent is looking great :)! Today I noticed that some of the hairs on the oldest plant have started to turn orange :). That plant will be at 5 weeks under 12/12 on Tuesday. I also started so lst on the two taller plants in veg to keep their height down and they seem to be responding well to it. I will be posting updated pics on Tuesday/Week #5 of 12/12. Until then...

:peace:

Today marks 5 weeks/35 days since I started 12/12. The only plant that has been in there since the start is the one on the back right in the flower tent. The other are a week or so behind. So I'm probably around 3-5 weeks from harvest, but I won't be pulling them until I see a sufficient amount of amber trichomes. I also just tightened the wires on the plants I am lst-ing. Other than that everything is looking great and moving right along.

Here are the pics...

That was some extreme defoliation there my friend. Nice to see they were able to bounce back from it.

Can't believe how much progress is being made in your flowering tent, looks amazing. I bet it smells even better :)

Thanks Mono! I honestly can't believe how well they turned out after the defol as well. But they are doing great now! As far as the smell goes, it's getting really stinky. Since I don't have the carbon filter attached, it's stinking up the whole house :). I love to close the doors of the room the tents are in before the vents kick on and get blasted with all the smell that's built up in the flower tent over night, haha, its nice.
