I want to publicly shout out to @Rob Griffin at @420, who is the Emperor of this fabulous site.
I have been a member here for two years. In that time I have been taught how to grow by the best people. I have found people I never knew I needed. A big love, a few smaller loves, a shit load of likes and maybe two loathes for balance lol. I have had members send me Barney’s seeds all the way from the other side of the world, which introduced me to a grow I never knew possible. I have had members take time to tutor me, I have had members who hold my hand, steady me, applaud me through grow after grow. I have have members who research the right nutes for me coz I fucking hate research. And I have both lolled and cried with the friends I have found. In a nutshell I have been given soooo much.
I start each day here, I wake up to friends, and I just love it. About a month ago I realised to @Rob Griffin, this is his business. And I really wanted to show my thanks by supporting his business, so I thought I’ll go to the 420 Store and buy a tshirt. When it came time to pay, I couldn’t, I even went to my Post Office to try and send a money order but couldn’t. So I sent @420 a PM explaining I couldn’t finalise my payment. I asked if 420 had PayPal, but unfortunately they don’t, so I could not buy the shirt.
So fast forward a month and I get a message from the safe address I use for any grow purchase saying there is a package for me. I was puzzled, because I haven’t purchased anything. I popped over today to find Rob had sent my order free of charge and also wore the additional cost of postage from the USA to The Land Down Under (where women glow and men plunder).
This epitomised to me the foundation and culture of 420 Magazine where kindness and generosity is given both eagerly and readily.
But in saying that, I just want to remind you all, kindness and generosity doesn’t pay the bills. That this is someone’s business. It’s a small business. Not doing your best to support the magazine is like sending thoughts and prayers after a disaster. While it’s sweet in theory, it basically does fuck all. Think of it as a bar, or a coffee shop, or a specialist, where you meet to chat, share stories and look for advice, but won’t actually support the business by buying a beer/coffee. It’s just not right. In my country we call it unAustralian, and that is a slur that wounds us.
So I implore you. If you can, put your hand in your wallet/purse and give back, buy a shirt or a coffee cup.
And to you, Rob, thank you so very very much. You can’t even believe how big my smile was. Honestly, I felt so shocked, appreciated and special all at once. I got your business card and stickers too. Keep an eye out on your PO Box bruv coz you got a special delivery coming from Australia.
