monitoring the trichomes closely now.
It’s nice to know I can harvest them now but I think I’ll wait a day for some trichs to cloud up a lil more. Lol hope I don’t end up waiting to long whatever. It’s all a learning process. And I learn best from making mistakes first.
That way I have a more thorough understanding of why it was a mistake to do something lol. It’s not the best way. But it works for me.
pretty frustrating at times but that’s what makes them so memorable for me haha.

ladies and gentlemen
I bring to you on this day the unveiling of the one and the only
HiGrade testing kit
So I came across this online. Saw a video of how it works. Sounded dope so I checked out the website and read the about section and the science section on there. So it’s an Israel based company doing cannabis research and trying to make it easier to test thc without destroying bud sample. Sounds like they developed this app and microscope for just that. Sounds like they did some extensive testing on many sample over the years and what not. It’s an ai self learning algorithm from what I understand. So it’s only going to get better with use is my thinking.
It’s advertised as a + or - 3% accuracy.
some bloggers say it’s crap others say it’s fire.
And a blogger uses it every time she about to spark up some bud. Watched a video of her testing out some Tyson ranch bud and it was good. Watched her use it on some other company buds and their claims were higher on the label then what the camera detected so....
Not so fire weed I guess lol.
But yeah as I don’t have lab equipment to actually test potency I thought that this would be the next best thing priced at 70$ I thought it’s worth a shot.
So what do you all think of this new toy?
I don’t have any dried bud at the moment to test it and I just got it and downloaded the app. So I’m going to go check out the app.

so for the hell of it I tested it in a live bud, this one to be exact. I know it says for dry flower, but i don’t have any on hand lol. So this was my results, so far Sounds about right.

Okay so here is my second test on another live plant just cut this morning

Since it needs three photos, I thought why not get three photos of some nice meaty buds to process and here it is

so I woke up this morning and got some feedback from the HiGrade agronomist.
I then got the idea that they should contact 420.
if this product works. I don’t see why not this can be a new tool for growers and smokers alike.

I guess that’s one example of how trichomes protect the plant from insects trying to eat the plant

I would definitely have to upgrade my security and buy some actual guns for home defense even a laser security grid if the day comes bugs are equipped enough to use lighters

So if this thing turns out to be a piece of crap, at least I got a nice 30x microscope that’s 3x the price lol.

So what do you all think of this new toy?

I think the idea is neat but without a real lab test I'm not sure what type of algorithms could give you a reasonable degree of accuracy. I'm sure many will find it useful but for the most part I don't know of any growers that are concerned if the breeder's levels of THC are accurate or not. For edibles it could come in handy I would think.
It will be nice to see how your numbers compare to a breeder's.

Yeah, I’m hoping it does what it does, I mean, self driving cars are going about using self learning algorithms. And look at how many accidents they involved in
What I’m saying is they run on cameras and ai also, so if they can do that recognizing shapes like cars and stop signs, to people walking on the street, and obstacles.
I don’t see why it would be so much more complicated to recognize a trichome and count every single one that shows up in a single picture.
I mean they even have algorithms for faces so much so as some guy made one and was selling it to the police for subscription services to track people lol.
And that worked with incomplete face photos scouring the internet like Facebook and every other social media websites on the web to find every photo on the internet with you in it lol.

I think it would be much easier making an algorithm to recognizing a “trichome” in a photo and a “not a trichome”on a plant photo lol.
and make a percentage alone on that information provided based on the numerous other results being constantly uploaded and sent into the server. (If that is what indeed is truly happening)
lol but that’s me thinking after a couple very good dab hits. So I’m sure it’s filled with holes lol.
